Disappointing stay at Homewood Suites...

Liked: Location of hotel within walking distance of an outlet mall and within short driving distance of a Farmer's Market, Wal-Mart and fast food restaurants.
Disliked: I had visited this particular hotel back and had a fantastic experience...was looking forward to my short stay once again...Check-in: front desk lady, Mack, was polite and cheerful. She assured me my room was cleaned and available for check...First Room: EXTREMELY disappointed with cleanliness of suite(s). Tile floor not swept, dishes in dishwasher, soap scum and hair in bath tub, water leaking from above unit through the light fixture in the bathroom, beds hastily made (if they were even made). Ended up switching rooms with second room being slightly better in terms of cleanliness (again, dishes left in dishwasher, bedroom carpet had not been vacuumed, faint smell of pet odor that lingered the entire time in bedroom).Breakfast: Continental. Some hot food options ( about 3 or 4 items). Mostly cold items (ie. Cereal, yogurt, muffins, fruit, bread/specialty loaves). Large eating area able to accommodate many people. Very clean area.Front desk operations: while polite and accommodated my situation of changing rooms, seemed utterly unfazed by the situation, offering us two complimentary bottles of water for our troubles and a cheery "Merry Christmas! Let me know if I can help you in any way!" No offering to reduce the bill or offer a free night (but perhaps they are not at liberty to do so). Perhaps they werelow on staff during week of Christmas? I saw one person mostly on desk in my short times down to the lobby. I asked (Christmas Eve/when we checked in) if they would be holding their usual "Manager's reception " the next day (Wednesday/Christmas) to which front desk said no, but for me (as the guest) to call or come down to the lobby the next day to see if anything was going on and find out when it would start. (I guess they didn't know this information? ). As we were now situated in another part of the hotel, it made sense to enter/exit through another door other than the lobby.
