Good breakfast, location, and rooms

Liked: Great breakfast, everything worked in the room, nice location, very helpful concierge guy (Dave, in particular), and comfortable bed.
Disliked: The fitted sheet on the bed kept coming off because it didn’t seem to fit, and when we took the stairs, there was always different kinds of debris in the stairwell (a pair of socks, another pair of socks, a plunger wrapped in plastic), even after we mentioned it to the front desk staff. Not a big deal, but it made a slightly poor impression.

Disliked: When needing fresh towels, I had to cancel the request after waiting over an hour. Also, the cabinets in the breakfast area are REALLY dirty, which makes you wonder what else is dirty. One of the window pulls was broken and you can't raise the shade without it, so it had to stay down the entire stay.

Liked: Nothing went well, Starting from Booking. com Over booking our room.We booked on 15 September and recieved our CONFIRMATION the same day, we also notified the hotel that we will arrive by out about 11pm on the 31st October only to arrive at that time and be told that the hotel and Booking.com had given our room away to someone else - we were tired and stressed out, we are pensioners aged 74 & 75 and were stuck in the middle of an argument until 1am before we were finally given a room which the hotel reception had said they never had !! Distgusting, unforgivable behavior and a TOTAL RIPP OFF HOTEL working in CAHOOTS with another RIP OFF COMPANY BOOKING.COM never to be RECOMMENDED by anyone to anyone.WE were OFFERED one FREE NIGHT in COMPENSATION, but on receiving our Guest Final account we NOTE that we have been CHARGED the FULL AMOUNT of the RIP OFF CHARGE of $213 dollars per night and NOT received a CREDIT at ALL !!.HANG YOUR HEADS DOWN IN SHAME . Homewood Suites by HILTON and BOOKING.COM .
Disliked: Breakfast- Poor Selection.4th floor outside lifts very bad white stains look's like paint ?Generally in a bad state of repair and a RIP off in over charging for what you receive - we will never ever recommend this poor hotel or use it again - vagrants filth right across the road at street car stop in full view of guests.New Orleans Cleansing department should be ashamed of themselves, this must be the Dirtiest City in America, full of Hobo's, Vagrants begging for money and very dirty, streets STENCH of URINE and mostly broken down bad PAVEMENTS, NOT SUITABLE FOR DIABLED PEOPLE ON WHEELCHAIRS,DO NOT VISIT THIS RIP OFF, FILTHY ,DIRTY HOLE that they call a city, it should be called SHITY not CITY !!!!

Disliked: Bedding was dirty, hvac door was unhinged, shower and ice bucket had hair in them. Mentioned to management and they worked it out for me.

Liked: Close proximity to most of everything we wanted to see & do.
Disliked: First hotel I have ever stayed at that they did not offer coffee in the lobby after breakfast. So after a long day & you wanted to relax & visit with friends, there were no beverages. No coffee, no tea, no hot water for hot chocolate! No water!!!Seriously?Bad judgement call!!Also during the breakfast time, they decided to clean the bathrooms near the lobby & breakfast area. Bad judgement call. We were told to go back to our room!! Bad judgement call.No milk for breakfast to drink, only for cereal.Coffee maker in room, no coffee packets. Cleaned our room, left no clean washcloths!!The reception the one night was nice! Thank you!

I guess you get what...

Liked: The staff were kind, friendly, and well informed. The continental breakfast was decent and kept fairly well stocked. The location was reasonably close to the French Quarter.
Disliked: There was no mattress pad on the mattress which was stained. The mattress pad we asked for fit a queen bed not a king and it was stained. The bed had 2 flat sheets not a fitted one and when we asked for new bedding the fitted sheet was too small and kept popping off the mattress so we were forced to sleep on top of the bedding or directly on a dirty stained mattress. The walls were thin and we could hear all the street traffic as well as the couple’s amorous encounter on the adjoining wall. It was bad enough we had to go buy earplugs from a store nearby to be able to sleep there additional nights.

Disliked: Location- too close to Community Centre- needs renovation- very poor decor- staff at breakfast - one woman tested my ‘hot’ tea how cold my tea was by sticking her finger in it and then asking if I wanted a new one and breakfast itself was gross - would never recommend

Comfortable. Relieving.

Liked: Full facilities, crisp AC, helpful staff, comfy bed and couch.
Disliked: The showers have the weird metal plate under the shower head that ring every time water hits it. Not sure the function of that. That wasn't bad, just confusing. There also wasn't any fan in the bathroom either. Bummer laundry cost $, but maybe that's typical of hotels, not sure.
