Disliked: No phone, no clock, refrigerator was broken, and no hand soap in the bathroom. Also was not informed about the $100 damage deposit before arrival

Awful, dishonest booking practices

Liked: They list their hotel as having a hot tub. They do not. Individual rooms do apparently from photos, but not the hotel itself for general guest access. Great, fine, no big deal right cause there was "free cancellation"?! Also bull. That's two very big strikes against them before I even got there. Something was already feeling very off if they're trying to bamboozle people into staying like this. I tried to cancel as I'm coming from an event were I needed the hot tub specifically for muscle recovery, that's the entire reason I booked, and the cancellation was not free as advertised, per se, because you could only cancel until 4:30 that day and I booked 10 minutes earlier. That wasn't noted ANYWHERE. So fine again, I'm not a jerk I'll simply move the reservation and come back another date. Then tried to call AND EMAIL as instructed to get my date switched to another when I could use the room just 2 weeks later and they never contacted me. They wanted the fee. The message guaranteed someone would within 24 hours to agree or provide other options. It's Thursday, this happened LAST SATURDAY, and I've still heard from no one. So I put a halt on my card immediately after 24 hours, for their breach of terms at that point and they will not get that business from me period now. It was dishonest and stupid...they could have had that money if they had not been inept and simply contacted me about rebooking. Instead I guess they assumed I was ditching them outright and went to snatch the room fee while they could. Really bad practice. And now everyone in our large entertainment organization nearby knows to not stay there too.

Disliked: Walked into the lobby and the first thing I could smell was weed. Also smelled it by my room.

Liked: The room was clean. Staff was very friendly and accommodating and prompt with requests like extra towels and the breakfast area. Location was good as well. Side street with little traffic noise. Breakfast area was clean but limited in selection.
Disliked: Room was clean but abit rundown and every night the room would start to smell very strongly of smoke. It was hard to sleep due to the strong odor of smoke. It was never present later in the morning or afternoon. Just evenings and into early morning hours. Cable TV was blocky service with many of the channels unwatchable. Breakfast was better than anticipated based on reviews except for the eggs. They tasted terrible almost like soap.

Liked: Free breakfast was good, beds were comfortable.
Disliked: The shower nozzle was broken, had a hard time turning it on and off and adjusting the temperature...we reported it to the front desk Wednesday morning, but it still hadn't been fixed by the time we checked out 4 days later
