I’ll forever book here.

Liked: The comfort, quiet, scenery of the whole place and view.
Disliked: I booked a specific room for the view and was placed in a much lesser room. Other than that, I love this place. It was my second visit.

I wouldn’t stay there again....

Liked: The view
Disliked: No one on site. Couldn’t get into our room. Out of the way. Paid for early check in and ended up not checking in early because we couldn’t get in!

Great location and value in...

Liked: This is a superbly located, small hotel with incredible views of Hollywood from high atop the hills. Private gate entry helps assure safety for the facilities and parking, and nearby destination sites of Yamashiro restaurant and the Magic Castle make this a gem of a find for affordable hotel stays in Hollywood.
Disliked: The buildings are in a noticeable state of decay, including wood timers that are visibly rotting, and sketchy stairwells that feel accident prone. Facility could use a touch-up to fix these aging and questionable elements of the building structures. ALSO - lack of on-site staff makes getting into the rooms difficult as the QR code scanner NEVER worked for me over the four nights stay, and required that I call in to have a remote access entry for my room on every time I entered and exited.

More like a cheap motel...

Liked: The customer service for this hotel is really good. The staff seemed friendly and sympathetic over the phone. We had issues with both rooms that we were provided with, and the staff were helpful in what they did for us. The downside is that there aren't any staff at the hotel itself, so everything is done remotely (digital door keys, customer service over the phone etc).
Disliked: There isn't any staff at the hotel. This is evident by the state the hotel is in. We got the impression that the hotel is being managed by a third party company, but owned by someone who is letting it run into the ground. The hotel is advertised as a "luxurious, boutique hotel in the Hollywood Hills". It simply isn't. It feels like an abandoned motel, built on wasteland with a crumbling road around the perimeter and buildings in very poor state. Despite booking a "landmark view suite", most of the view is blocked out by buildings, which we couldn't work out if they were part of the "hotel" or residents who live on the same complex. We accessed our room through a long, dark corridor, which for some strange reason, was painted completely black. Our first room had a kitchenette, only having enough cutlery for one person. It was obvious that this isn't checked regularly, as we had differing amounts of crockery too. The "studio" apartment felt like a cheap motel inside. There was vast empty space which should have been filled with furniture such as sideboards or desks, but instead, just an empty room with a TV and two chairs. The bathroom was the biggest issue, as the bathtub had previously been painted and the paint was flaking off, leaving sharp edges in the tub. Not somewhere you would want to shower. The extractor fan sounded like a tractor and wasn't something you'd want to turn on in the middle of the night. All in all, after being promised a "luxurious boutique hotel" and spending more than other local hotels, we were left feeling cheated and misled. We switched room and it was just as bad. There was more furniture, but it was completely different to the last room, so not sure where they get it from... The bath was still flaking, only one bowl in the kitchen and there was a clump of hair on the sofa. The balcony door didn't lock and the view was even worse. We were refunded and left.
