Went to the Sinbad comedy show. Hotels close to EQC were either full, too expensive or roach motels. Red Lion was decent for a one night stay. Died laughing when Sinbad made a joke about the Red Lion.
Liked: Just off the highway for easy drive to EQC.
Disliked: Hotel a little dated.

One rotten apple doesn't make...
Liked: The location was close to our destination.
Disliked: I had requested for towels and washcloths for our room from the hotel clerk, I was handed the towels (she looked at me and hesitated) and she stated that she will bring the washcloths to my room and never did. However, I was able to get it from another clerk.

Liked: It was fairly clean
Disliked: We got this hotel months in advance for the night before our wedding so we could be there early in the morning to get ready. I forgot to call earlier in the day to confirm and remembered the night beforehand our wedding. Which was the day we reserved to checkin. I called at 8:30pm and the supervisor told us we had to come down there to physically check in. I was like can’t you do a checkin over the phone? He insisted several times that if we didn’t come check in that night before 2am then we would “no show” our room and be charged anyways. I told him it was a 35-45min drive for us that night and he said it didn’t matter. So the night before my wedding having to get up at 6 AM the next day to get my hair done and get ready we had to get in the car and drive all the way down there for 45 minutes to check in in person. When we finally got down there around 9:30 there was a huge line and we had to wait 10 minutes to check in. When we finally got to the check-in desk the supervisor said “I was gonna call you” because he said he talk to his manager and they said that we didn’t need to come down there we could just do a credit card authorization over the phone with a form. And I’m like are you kidding me? It took us 35 minutes to get down there and no one tried to call us at all. So we checked in and drove home and finally got home around 10:45 PM and I still had to be up at 6 AM for my wedding. The next day they offered us whatever snacks we wanted. They offered to give us a discount on the room the next day when the general manager found out what happened. We decided not to do the discount and just to do an earlier checkin for our other guest who we got a room for. I would say that this impacted my wedding day quite a bit and made things a lot harder then they needed to be because we were so tired and frustrated. The staff was friendly otherwise. The staff that was there the day of our wedding was very friendly and we enjoyed interacting with them.
