Liked: The hotel is right in centre of Sunderland which suited us as we were dining there. The staff were polite and helpful and room was clean and tidy with everything we needed. The staff in the 24 hour bar were very good and prices were reasonable especially for a hotel.
Disliked: What could have been better is not a reflection on the hotel, but more about booking.com itself. I received advice about what to do while staying in Sunderland, which basically was go to Newcastle or Whitby. This really surprised me as there is a lot to do and see in Sunderland if only booking.com could do a little research they could find out. Sunderland has a great coastline with good walks and scenery, there is the glass centre, Hilton castle, the winter gardens and museum and Mowbray park to name a few. I took it as an insult to the friendly people of Sunderland that your advice was to travel miles outside the area for things to do.
