Holiday Inn Savannah Historic District, Savannah

Mildew in bath. My husband and I did not shower. Charged for nit-picky stuff i.e. newspaper. Parking was $50.

Liked: Location.
Disliked: Beds were old and lumpy. Sheets thin and worn out.

Displeased with accommodation. Ice machine not working/no drink machine in building. No refrigerator in room. Room too small. No remote for TV. No sign to entrance, almost causing an accident upon arrival. Sewer like odor in the evening. Under renovation but still paying flat rate. I have contacted the main office of Holiday Inn and have not yet received a rebate or my money back.

Liked: Comfortable bed.
Disliked: No signs indicating entrance; hotel under renovation but still required to pay full rate.

Liked: Staff very pleasant and helpful.
Disliked: Room was never cleaned on my first day.

Liked: Location was great - everything in historic district of Savannah was an easy walk. Front desk staff was EXCELLENT. Housekeeping not so much - they swapped towels and didn't leave behind enough fresh towels. Bartender was AWESOME!

Disliked: Not worth the money! Stenched and trash all over the grounds.

Liked: The location was nice.
Disliked: Our check in time was 4. I arrived to check in at 6 pm and our room was not ready. I had to wait in my car for roughly 30 min until our room was ready. This was difficult as there are limited places to park for free near the hotel. Also - I did not like that the hotel said they have parking when there are maybe ten free parking spots( which were all taken) so we had to pay an unexpected fee of valet.

Liked: Terrible Experience with a Few Bright SpotsThe check-in process was frustrating. Despite arriving two hours early and being willing to wait, we still had to wait over an hour past the regular check-in time to get our room. Only one person was handling check-ins, and there were a lot of people waiting.The room was outdated and had a terrible smell, almost like too many chemicals were used. The carpet had stains, and the beds felt old and uncomfortable.The breakfast was disappointing, with poor food quality and limited options.On the bright side, the service and staff were helpful and friendly. Our valet, Brandon, stood out—he was very diligent and made sure our car was ready whenever we needed it.
