I had a great stay at the Holiday Inn. Lovely hotel in a very nice location. I will be staying there again.

Liked: An excellent place to stay. All staff members were incredibly pro-active and helpful. First-class food.

Disappointed and won’t stay again

Disliked: Booking the hotel for 2 nights in October, then being charged £15 a day for the parking when we’ve never paid this before (we’ve been staying for 12 years and never had to pay to park before)

Disliked: Room cold. Windows very old and draughty. Radiator noisey when turned up. Not great for the cost!

Overall as expected for this...

Liked: Clean. Friendly, helpful staff. Food mostly good. Penang veg curry very good. Good but shallow pool and well equipped gym.
Disliked: Bed and pillows hard, improved somewhat by new topper and pillow changes. Not as quiet as hoped for and the first floor and Spa are only accessible by seven steps (although there is a stair lift). Cooked breakfast average for buffet style. Scrambled eggs powdery, bacon rubbery. Not enough veg on menu but this is fairly typical these days. Shampoo and hand/body washes but No Conditioner in room or spa.

Comfortable

Liked: The staff were extremely pleasant with us as we were only staying for a funeral. The young lady called Charlie on the front desk was fully aware of our stay and was extremely kind to us

Disliked: There was somebody's hairbrush hair on the carpet next to the bin, there were lots of small stains on the carpet too.
