Not great. Noisy.

Liked: Not much.
Disliked: It was the loudest room ever. There was a consistent clicking, water running, other noises coming from the bathroom ceiling vent and walls the entire stay. Also, we specifically picked a hotel with a hot tub, and your online photos made it look really appealing. Three lights were consistently flashing in the pool area, making it look like a horror movie, and the general look of the pool area was pretty sad. Also, $12 for breakfast??? The hook from the back of the door was missing (but still sadly tried to hang the blow dryer there), and the door was visibly dirty. Toilet handle was hanging in there, was constantly running and had to fix it myself.

Unfortunately we do not recommend...

Liked: I liked that it was pet friendly and the room didn’t smell like pet.
Disliked: Upon arrival, the staff was unable to locate my reservation. After showing them my reservation code, they eventually found it. While waiting, the second staff member on shift was very friendly and took the time to explain the amenities and directions to other guests checking in. I was hopeful we would also receive some helpful information, but that did not happen. Instead, we were simply handed the keys and directed to our room.Upon entering, we immediately noticed that the mini fridge was not working—there was water in the freezer section. When I inquired about switching rooms, the young male staff member was dismissive and informed me that there wasn’t much he could do since I had made the reservation through Booking.com. He mentioned that the earliest the maintenance team could address the issue would be the next day. I agreed and asked him to document the issue so it could be resolved promptly. It turned out that one of the two plugs was not working.Adding to the inconvenience, the heating system was extremely loud, sounding like a commercial fan. It cycled on and off repeatedly throughout the night, waking me up even while wearing earplugs. As a result, I didn’t get much sleep.On a positive note, the location, the friendly female staff member, and the dining area/breakfast met our needs perfectly. However, due to the various inconveniences and poor handling of the situation, we will not be staying at this hotel again.

Overall stay was great.

Liked: Peaceful/ relaxing/ lobby atmosphere was clean and pleasant very welcome
Disliked: Room old need updated. Room look like motel style

Served as a dry place...

Liked: We needed a place to stay during a storm as well were travelling. It served the purpose and the as easy to locate.
Disliked: It was dirty and the room smelled like stale cigarettes. Walls and doors were brown with dirt.

Fabulous

Liked: Very clean, comfortable and quiet
Disliked: The bath run had a chunk out of it, the hot water was not continuous.

Piss poor due to the...

Liked: Location was Geary and it was clean
Disliked: Was told at check in that the pool was being shut down due to “locals sneaking in and found something in the pool” and needed to call the manager. We had two young children that were looking forward to swimming. While I understand cleanliness and safety what pissed me off was when we left again for dinner there were people still in the pool and when we returned 3.5 hours later people were still in the damn pool! If you’re going to tell someone that the pool is being closed down even after seeing the disappointment on the kids face then close the damn thing down instead of straight lying to my face. Facilities were nice but the front desk worker straight lied to my face. Chances are we will never stay here again even when we are in the Beckley are monthly!

Not what I expected for...

Liked: The location is fantastic on our way home from the beach. The breakfast is fantastic! Bed and pillows are great!
Disliked: 1. Breakfast wasn't included in the stay. Breakfast is a huge perk to me. Most places I have ever stayed it is included and when we stayed last year it was included. I prefer staying in Holiday Inn Express and I unfortunately assumed it was included. 2. There was hair in the bath tub when we walked in our room.3. We had to take the lid off the back of the toilet in order to jiggle the lever so the toilet would fill and then flush. We had to do this every time we used the bathroom. We were offered another room. I thought I had fixed the toilet and we had unpacked so we chose to stay. 4 there was no counter space in the bathroom to set anything. The vanity was small. There was plenty of room for a larger counter . I have never seen a small vanity and sink like this in a hotel where there could clearly have been a large one out. 5. There was blue painters tape, that had very clearly been there awhile, holding up the molding around the bottom of the vanity. I have a picture. . We had stayed at the Microtel on the other side of the parking lot on the way down to the beach and even though Holiday in Express was more expensive we decided that sometimes you get what you pay for. So we chose to spend a bit more and have a nicer place. We were clearly disappointed.
