Disliked: We left without staying. Staff were unhelpful. We were given key but it didn’t work. Common areas weren’t clean. The area behind reception desk was messy and full of junk. Whilst we were deciding whether to stay or not, we were told we must return the key (we had already paid for the room). We asked if we could transfer the booking to another Travelodge in Southampton and were told we would have to pay another £85. We found a Holiday Inn Express for £49 including breakfast. Parking is in the train station car park opposite and the ticket runs out at 4am. When we asked at the station ticket office, we were told their day starts at 4 am, so that’s when the tickets commence.

Avoid!!!

Disliked: 2 weeks after the stay I have received a parking ticket for £100 despite registering my car. Tried to contact the hotel for 3 days to wave the charges nobody is there to talk to. Was put on hold multiple times for 48 minutes, 50 minutes and then the call would be disconnected. In the end I was told that the car park is managed privately and it is nothing to do with Holiday Inn even it is their machine that didn’t work. Also, I was told as the reservation doesn’t specifically say free parking, and the booking was made via Booking.com they can’t take responsibility for free parking advertising as the service provided by the hotel. Apparently, Booking.com can make up things. Appalling customer service! I would never stay in Holiday Inn ever again!

Liked: I stayed at Holiday Inn Express Southampton West for 15 nights while in the area for business. Overall, the experience was okay.The room was very basic, but clean and comfortable enough for an extended stay. Nothing fancy, but it met my needs. The highlight was the breakfast—surprisingly good with a large selection of hot and cold options, which was a great way to start the day.On the plus side, the staff were all very friendly and helpful throughout my stay, and the check-in/check-out process was smooth.A solid choice if you’re looking for a simple, no-frills place to stay while working or passing through the area.
Disliked: The Wi-Fi was a bit inconsistent—sometimes it worked well, other times it was unreliable, which could be frustrating when trying to workAlso the TV in the room didnt pick up any channels but thankfully could connect to my laptop.
