Great stay - will come...
Liked: Great location, friendly staff, diverse breakfast, and super quiet. No noise from other tenants or the room above. The room was huge with a comfy bed and pillows, and a good-sized ensuite. Loved it! Will definitely come back!
Disliked: The hotel is currently being refurbished, but it didn’t bother me since no work was being done during the evening/night, and it was already dark when my partner and I arrived. I can't say I disliked anything in particular, just the exterior appearance of the hotel, and the bed felt a bit small.

Exceptional staff
Liked: The staff were excellent, friendly and so, so, helpful.
Disliked: The building was incased in scaffolding, which would of been tolerable. Had the scaffolding not been covered in tarpaulin. Felt quite stifling.

Basic accommodation in the middle...
Liked: DLR train station close-by, the room basic and clean, and the breakfast moderate (but not having any cold cuts on your bread, just cheese..)
Disliked: NO INFORMATION that they have a facade renowation going on at the moment (and the notice board said it will be lasting till march 2025..), so it looked more of a construction site outside. We stayed on the 7th floor, but there was no proper view outside because of the scaffolding (and needed to keep the curtains closed because of the construction workers walking past our window). No soundproofing, so you can hear everything from the neighbouring rooms.

Stressful
Liked: It was ok and the room was clean
Disliked: Really noisy/ no space to park the car and they charge me £20 We booked more than 10 rooms all together and the check in was really stressful as the lady who attended us was rude to our leader

Good place to stay for...
Liked: Clean, comfy and quiet (even if it's near a very busy street). The breakfast was repetitve but good enough.
Disliked: The location is a little bit far from anything interesting, but I knew this from start. However, if you check the bus lines (15 line) this is not such a big problem.

Convenient for our visit to...
Liked: Didn't have it as only buffet is offered. I wish HIE offered cooked breakfast options with kitchens.
Disliked: Significant building works at the hotel. Entire outside clad in scaffolding and netting so no view. Couldn't open hotel window as it would have probably fouled on a scaffold pole, but in any case the whole window was stuck shut with manufacturers blue film from shipping. Shower gel provided smelt disgusting. Bed was far too soft - gave little support when sleeping. Bar had run out of Stella lager. Very little snacks we could buy at the bar (one flavour of crisp and dry roasted peanuts only). Sat nav gave confusing and inaccurate instructions to reach the hotel. Google street view shows it can be reached from the street to the north, but steel gates were locked preventing access as its now a building site compound with a temporary car park at front. Nothing on website to suggest building works. Or giving guests specific directions to reach the hotel from the Highway road.
