Disappointment

Liked: It was located near my event
Disliked: Before I arrived, in my reservation process, I requested that I have a 1st floor room as well as a fan in my room. Checking in, neither was known and upon “re-checking” in, I was given a 1st floor room and that the attendant would check on a fan. I walked down to my room and it had a smell of drywall and plaster dust – it was dirty. In about 10 minutes, the same attendant came to my room with a broken fan, saying this was all they had. Disappointing. I had arrived at Holiday Inn Express early - around 5PM, so I could sit by the pool and prepare my writings for the next day’s event by the pool…one of the reasons I had chosen this hotel. When the attendant had come to my room to drop off the broken fan, I asked how late to pool would be open, to which he told me it was closed due to construction. Disappointed yet again.I then wanted to put my ice pack in the room’s freezer for later, only to find the small freezer door frozen shut with great amounts of frost/ice condensation.I have stayed here before and I am certainly disappointed that what was laid-out or portrayed on the website certainly was not what was available.

Disliked: powdered eggs and pool and gym under construction.. we didnt know till we got there.
