Liked: From a distance it looked inviting
Disliked: Once in the parking lot I realized it looked flooded. The lobby was bright white and totally uninviting. The desk clerk seemed fine at first but then he turned into a jerk. I had my grandchildren and the weather got bad. I decided to get a room because I felt unsafe driving at night with 18 wheelers and a bad storm with heavy rain. I used my debit card card on my phone and paid a ridiculous price $167.72 for a room that I didn’t even check in until midnight. My card was charged and I had a receipt plus the reservation. Upon checking in the guy tells me that I have to have a different card to pay an additional $50. for a deposit!! I already paid for the room. I didn’t have a card but could use my digital wallet. I had proper identification and he would not allow me to use my phone to pay the $50. It was ridiculous to even ask for such! So since he would not let me check in I asked how am I going to get refunded so I could go somewhere else….he told me that since i booked thru a third party there was nothing he could do so basically it wasn’t his problem. My three grandchildren were in the car waiting for me and we were tired, cold, and wet. Needless to say I have nothing good to say other than booking.com did refund my money a few days later. I was cheated and I feel I was treated so bad. I needed a safe place to stay until the storm eased up and this jerk at front desk could have caused us to have a wreck because I ended up driving home in the bad weather. Luckily we made it but my grandchildren’s trip ended on a bad note. Never ever depend on this hotel!! I got a creepy feeling in there anyway…..seemed like a sleezy truck driver stop where who knows what goes on there but it’s not a place for families!!!

Liked: The lady running breakfast was awesome! Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast, but everything was hot & fresh. Super clean!
Disliked: Super basic as a whole. My experience with HIE in the past has been higher-end. This one is not worth $150. A little construction in the lobby.

Liked: The room was clean and decent, however the bed was shabbily made which made us question if it was clean! We purchased Lysol just to be safe
Disliked: Ensure the beds are made properly so that guests don’t have to question if the beds linens have been changed
