Large comfortable room and bed...
Liked: Location was excellent, just as advertised. It was also fantastic to have our own fridge in the room. The consulate is just a short walk down the street on the same side of the street, which is important. There is a mall just across the street, but you either have to cross a harrowing road or walk down to the footbridge to safely cross. Most people note the number of food options close by, which is true, however for the healthy conscious, the options are limited. There are lots of cheap fast food options and only a couple of restaurant options. We ate at Barrigas, which was fine, but not cheap. Dennys is also close by and a bit more affordable. Buffalo Wild Wings was the only place I found that actually had a decent salad. I was craving more vegetables the entire time! However, I was surprised to get salmon and broccoli at Dennys and it was decent. We also took Uber to a park in central Juarez just to walk around and stretch our legs. The cleaning staff was excellent and we really appreciated the friendliness of the daily room staff. The hotel also has a free shuttle that we took back to the airport when we departed. They don't pick up on arrival, but the return trip was greatly appreciated.
Disliked: The breakfast was okay but limited if you don't want eggs. Mostly it was fine. We did bring our own coffee for the room, which we were grateful for, however, the room coffeemaker is just a single cup with a gold filer included. It worked fine but a proper coffeemaker would have been nice. Our biggest complaint is that the room doesn't come up with proper mugs or even glasses, just two paper cups. We took two mugs from breakfast and kept those in the room during our stay. But it would have been nice if they just supply each room with mugs. We went through a lot of bottled water during our stay. There's a Circle K close to the consulate and an OXXO not too far away. We took an Uber to Walmart one day to buy groceries to stock our fridge with snacks and lunch items to save a little money on eating out all the time. Front desk staff were okay, not overly helpful, but nice enough.
