Absolutely poor customer service! Scammers!

Disliked: I will never book with this hotel again and do not recommend for others. I booked this hotel for a work trip. I reserved and paid for my 3 day stay on booking.com. Because this was a business trip, it was paid for on my bosses credit card. When I checked in to the hotel, I understood that I would still need to give them a credit card to keep on file just in case something happened during my stay. I checked in on a Sunday and checked out that Wednesday. Monday morning, Tuesday morning, and Wednesday morning I woke up from an alert on my discover card that this hotel charged my card for the stay. After the first charge, I immediately went to the front desk staff asking why my card was being charged when the reservation was already paid for. They first told me the charge was only a $5 hold since the room was already paid for. I showed them the proof that that clearly wasn’t true, showing them the alert of the charge that was clearly more than $5. They then claimed that booking.com never sent them the virtual credit card with my funds on. So I called booking.com and booking then called the hotel to sort this out and to tell the hotel they have already sent them everything they need. The hotel then tells me that even if they received the virtual credit card, they wouldn’t be able to access it anyways. Funny that they didn’t mention this during the first conversation. Booking called the hotel several times and sent several emails to the hotel with ways for them to access the funds since the hotel claimed they didn’t get the virtual credit card. The hotel then claimed they never got the emails. Every time I talked to the front desk staff they were rude and essentially called me a liar. Saying I never paid for the reservation through booking despite showing them a receipt. They also tried to tell me that the charges I was getting during my stay were from booking and not the hotel. Even though I clearly showed them that the charges said, from the Holiday Inn!

Disliked: The staff could have been better at communicating the water issues they were having when customers were checking in. Also the indoor pool was absolutely freezing.
