Nice stay... eventually!

Liked: Location excellent. lovely fresh and clean hotel and room and nice breakfast.
Disliked: I was contacted by Booking.com asking if for £2 did I want to get a 'better' room … the only difference from the twin I had already booked was a seating are so I thought ok that would be nice...when I clicked on the upgrade my room it came up as £2 for a double or £4 for a twin so I amended to the twin with seating area and received conformation of this, I also paid my booking in full, this was also confirmed....when I came to check in I was asked for payment, I explained I have already done so and showed the receptionists proof, after stating several times that they had not had the payment from Booking.com, I relied I wasn't going to pay again, after a few awkward minutes he went to his manager who instructed him to check us in which he did......then when we got to the room it was a double and not a twin as booked, I went back to the reception and the manager was at the desk so I explained to him what I had booked and is attitude was very dismissive and said - that's the problem when you book through a third party, which was not helpful, and then said we keep telling them we don't have a twin with a seating area, I showed him my confirmation but this was met with the same response and that they were full I explained my friend and I did not want to share a bed so he finally offered us a double with a sofa bed (luckily my friend enjoys camping so a small sofa bed would not be an issue!) It left a bad taste as I have stayed here before and never had any issues so a bit disappointed that this wasn't dealt with as much empathy as it could have been!

Disliked: You have to pay every time u move your car and it’s £9 a time which is expensive for Grimsby

Liked: Staff very good. Accommodation very good. Breakfast very good.
Disliked: Car parking expensive and not enough disabled spots. Entry / exit signage not very clear until you get there.
