My husband and I have stayed in far better hotels and have only been charged £10/15 per night or whole visit for our dog. Would definitely not book a longer stay in the future - in fact, we will not return to Holiday Inn as a matter of principal. Charge cannot be justified even for cleaning of room. Very disappointed.

Liked: Room and breakfast were good. Completely spoiled by above.
Disliked: Only negative was the £25 charge for our dog. We only stayed one night!

Good location

Liked: The location is very good, just a block away from the main Royal Mile. About 10 mins walk from the train station. There's quite a lot of restuarants, pubs and eateries newby. The room was generally ok and clean.
Disliked: The food was not what I'd expect. At 8.30 the only food was a bar menu. The pizza was bland. The breakfast (all though with a few choices) was once more bland. It's ok if you don't expect much.
