The location was perfect for our concert trip; easy to find and just a very nice hotel. It was very nice having a restaurant and bar on site and if you wanted something different there is an abundance of choices all around it. We would definitely stay here again!

Unfriendly and unaccommodating staff.
Disliked: Dog show going on in Dubuque and there were over 200 dogs staying at the Holiday Inn. I did not know that until I arrived to check in as I had booked through Booking.com. I am allergic to dogs and asked to cancel my reservation and get a refund which Holiday Inn refused. One staff member asked me if I had allergy medicine. They then told me to call Booking.com, who agreed to let me do a "one time late cancellation" and charged me a cancellation fee of over $100. I told them I didn't cancel 24 hrs before my stay because I didn't know over 200 dogs were at the hotel until I arrived to check in. Both Booking.com or Holiday Inn blamed each other for the issue and refused a full refund. Very disappointing.
