Disliked: I was there from Sunday to Thursday My room never got cleaned until Thursday. My heat wasn’t working correctly until Tuesday. My trash was in my room the entire time until Thursday My room smelled like spoiled food because they didn’t empty the garbage Soooo disappointed

Look for other spots first

Liked: The view was perfect
Disliked: The A/C wouldn't get off cold, the hot water took forever to get to any fixture and the breakfast was not included in price of stay which was an egregious 193 for one night.

Disliked: cost of the drinks at front desk. The restaurant to expensive so I brought food from home. no microwave only place were there was only one that is in the lobby.

Feels like a family-run B&B!

Liked: I've never felt so welcome in a hotel as I have here. All the staff here are just wonderfully helpful and dedicated to their roles. They take every request seriously and follow through. It feels more like staying with a family, honestly. Jamie and the rest of the front desk team were just awesome. I had a package delivered to the hotel and they were super cool about it. Moving rooms was also no problem.The free shuttle service was an absolute lifesaver - dependable, on time, and quick. The drivers we had (Lamont, Nate, Ms Tara, Ms Jeanette) were amazing. They know the city well and gave us so many tips. They don't just work in Charleston, they LIVE here, so they really know what it's really like and provide a valuable perspective. I wouldn't recommend walking to downtown from the hotel as you'd need to cross a highway and along a thin sidewalk. You can definitely walk west past the Waffle House to the other stores and restaurants though.Our booking included free breakfast so we were in the restaurant every day. Vegans: you can have the vegetable wrap without the cheese and it's delicious. The staff here - Alvaro, Joe, Mario, and JoJo - are heroes. Greeting us every day and knowing our special dietary accommodations without even asking. The team here went out of their way to make sure we were 100% satisfied. Please say hi to them, ask them how they are. This is how to get the best out of visiting a place.Remote workers: the lobby has power points and plenty of seating. Free coffee in the morning!The building and decor is old, but is clean and it works. It doesn't detract from the experience. Don't let this deter you from coming here!Thank you, Holiday Inn team! You really made our trip even more special.
Disliked: I didn't like leaving! The restaurant could add "vegan option available" to the vegetable wrap to help other travellers.
