Would return but reception needs...
Liked: Great location very accessible with parking on-site. Clean - housekeeping staff professional and friendly. Breakfast was great. Nice updated bar and lobby area.
Disliked: Too long to check-in. 40 minutes!

Review re accessibility ♿️
Liked: Staff were amazing, friendly and helpful, especially Pauline, Tasha and Julie. We were staying in an accessible room and some thought had gone into it. Towels, & shower gel were at a correct height for a wheelchair user, easy to reach emergency cords, plenty of support rails, pull down rail in wardrobe, mirrors at correct height, tea and coffee easy to access safely, plenty of turning space, both in room and around hotel. Super comfy bed. Breakfast was fresh, well cooked and evening meal in bar was lovely too...highly recommend the beef brisket.
Disliked: Whilst we found the stay accessible and would return again there were a few issues re accessibility which need highlighting.The pool/spa area is totally unaccessible to wheelchair users as there are several steps into the leisure area and no hoist or slope into the pool. Such a shame as we would love to have had a swim.The seat in the shower was extremely low, making a transfer from wheelchair to a seat hard on upper body strength and help was needed to get off. I never understand why designers think that these seats need to be so low...please make them normal stool height!!We had to go through several fire doors to get to our room which again are heavy (as they need to be in their role as fire doors!) However, it makes it difficult for wheelchair users to be independent and help was needed to open them and the room door. We have stayed in hotels where this is addressed by having touch buttons to automatically open the doors and which can be automatically activated for health and safety reasons. I appreciate it's costings and inconvenience for the owners, but it's also an inconvenience to have to ask for help all the time and isn't under the umbrella of inclusivety. The final thing, which I appreciate isn't the hotel's fault and more a guest was the ignorance of believing they could park in a blue badge space without displaying a blue badge....there were at least 30 spare spaces in the car park yet they parked in a disabled space. This could mean that someone is then unable to access a venue...so just a gentle reminder to everyone, please think about where you park.

Lovely and comfortable
Liked: Room was very warm , and well heated , bathroom very clean , and overall bed and room very very comfortable
Disliked: A great experience. Attentive pleasant staff and a Irish waitress was very helpful and kind in the breakfast room

Awful. Will not stay here...
Liked: The room stank of cigarette smoke and I had to be moved to another room. That room was fine but not sound proof! Not only were guests having sex next door and above me for hours, screaming! And then several males were shouting and arguing in the corridor which was intimidating and calling reception for assistance rendered no response. We complained in the morning and staff said they can't control behaviour of guests. Won't stay here again as the least we should be guaranteed is a sound proof room and decent night's sleep. Premier Inn here we come!
Disliked: Room stank. Had to be moved (why are guests out in a stinking room in the first place?). Very noisy and lack of privacy. Very little sleep (ahead of a long journey next day).

It's OK, more of a...
Liked: The hotel is clean, conveniently positioned and has good facilities.Some of the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Disliked: The bathroom is poorly designed . The shower unit is cheap and operates poorly. The towel rail is positioned directly above the loo.The TV in the room is too large.The armchair in the room was too large for the room and uncomfortable.I'm astonished as a paying guest. I had to pay for parking my car.When I checked in, the receptionist seemed to be distracted and more interested in taking my parking fee than getting me to my room.

They charge for parking!!
Liked: Restaurant and bar area refurbished and very pleasant. Breakfast was very standard but well cooked and good quality
Disliked: Paying for parking. Dynamic pricing!!! As a hotel guest and plentiful parking spaces I shouldn’t have been charged. It left a bad taste and spoilt the arrival. The pre check in information said parking charges ‘may’ apply!

Liked: Mattress was comfortable for the first 2 hours.
Disliked: Hello, I would like to inform you that we were served by possibly the worst hotel staff in my history of staying at Holiday Inns across the country. His tone in every sentence is condescending. We came at 3.30 for a 4 o'clock check-in, I was told they are understaffed so it wouldn't be possible to check-in earlier, which is fine. However the tone and aggressive nature of his demeanor was off putting. I highly recommend as an experience individual (I believe he was a manager) he should be much better at his interpersonal skills.On top of that let me start with the room, the bathroom experience to be exact. The flush does not work properly. We have had to flush multiple times for it to work. The hand-wash was empty when we tried to use it, not sure why this would not have been filled in.I will attach a few pictures (if possible) about holes in walls, no clothes hanging hook in the bathroom and when entering the bathroom, there is a very rough surface that hurt my wife and daughter.We also had a buggy for our kids which did not fit the lift easily and when speaking to that reception person, he was very condescending.Lastly, I would like to reiterate that this was by far the worst holiday inn experience. I really think the customer service and rooms should be upgraded.We are checking out soon and hope this message reaches the correct people and some action is taken. Additionally, the customer service while checking out was adequate.Thank you
