Disappointing

Affordable, friendly, functional – just...

Liked: I stayed with my spouse and friend for 3 nights. We made two bookings: a single room through booking.com and a double through their website because it was cheaper there. With one big exception, our experience was good and we are happy we stayed here. We were surprised to see they did daily room cleaning/turndown service. The front desk staff were friendly to us, spoke English, and accommodating of our issue with one room.
Disliked: The room doors slam shut so there is a lot of sound around the rooms. We were awoken early one morning by the guests above us moving furniture and packing up to leave.The cheapest single rooms are the cheapest for a reason: there were water pipes running through that made lots of noise any time other guests used their bathrooms (like long 3am showers). The small window did open, but it overlooks large air conditioning units which made lots of noise and occasional gas smells. The curtain over the window was propped on top of the window and fell down on us several times. We eventually asked about a change and were lucky to switch to a 'superior single' which was much much better: on the top floor, big window, much more comfortable. Avoid the cheapest room booking if you are a light sleeper! Otherwise, the location and price were great for our needs, especially because we booked this last-minute during a holiday period. I would stay here again but do everything possible to be on the top floor!

Dirty, loud and outdated.

Liked: After a rocky start (charging additional fees to allow us access to our room after our 3 nights stay was already entirely paid for), the clerk was friendly.
Disliked: At this point it doesn’t need repair but the entire property needs to be completely torn down and rebuilt.To call them rooms would be a lie, accommodations are the size of a closet, the bathroom are like many have stated, almost inaccessible for a lack of better word. There is no space, the shower was disgusting, covered in pubic hair, we had leaks from the toilet, which itself didn’t seem to have been cleaned up prior to our arrival. The mattresses need to be changed, the most uncomfortable beds I have laid on in my life. There is no soundproofing whatsoever and you will spend the night with your neighbors, so if yours are like the ones we were blessed to share our trip with, be prepared to never sleep and spend the night up to the sound of party and arguments. People smoking in hallways, bugs crawling, pee stain on beddings. No basic amenities, no AC, no safe, no minibar/fridge. I will never trust that hotel chain ever again. They couldn’t pay me to come back. If you’re a tourist in Paris, it’s not the neighborhood you would want to stay in anyway. I’m a Parisian relocated in California, traveling with my Californian family and thought I could easily take everyone around. But if you’re here for a short time and wanting to enjoy the most touristy spots you will be better staying in a more convenient part of town.

Disliked: I am extremely disappointed with this experience. I accidentally booked the wrong date at this hotel and contacted them immediately to request a change. Instead of assisting me, they declined to adjust the booking and kept the payment without any resolution. This lack of flexibility and understanding is very frustrating.

Superb

Great price, loving staff, unbeatable...

Liked: The hotel is located in a bustling neighborhood: hundreds of cafes, restaurants, bakeries, bars, and street food options. Also, a 5 minute away from all major bus stops and subway stations, so you can go anywhere in city very easily.
Disliked: Sometimes they wouldn't vacuum my room or clean the toilet bowl, but the bed was always perfectly made.
