My stay was excellent except...

Disliked: A deposit of $50 was held for incidentals, and while I received notice of a charge for water used while in the room, I have not received confirmation that the deposit was refunded.

Construction work on a Saturday.....

Disliked: We were not aware of the construction on the 1st floor. We were staying on the 2nd floor, and the construction work started at about 8-8:30 am on a Saturday. My husband was trying to sleep in as he was not feeling well and woke up to the noise/vibration. If work is being done, an email should be sent to guests and block those rooms right above the construction area so they are not assigned to guests.

Liked: Nice room - however, too much noise all day with construction. Realize you must do but all day; the hotel reps had ear plugs. Could not enjoy afternoon cocktail at bar- so loud.

Shocking

Liked: The lobby was being torn up with a jackhammer. Sheets of plastic had been put up but it did nothing to reduce the deafening sound while checking in (or in our 4th floor room) or breathing the concrete dust while checking in.
Disliked: They should have, at the very least, set up a temporary front desk elsewhere on the property. It would have prevented guests from being forced to stand 10 ft from a guy with a jackhammer while checking in. It also would have kept the front desk workers from being subjected to it all day. This shameful treatment of staff and guests aside, the hotel was otherwise very nice. It was very modern and clean. The room was quite large, very well lit and extremely comfortable. Excellent water pressure in the shower and the bathroom was actually larger than some hotel rooms I've stayed in in the UK. Although I rated MY STAY a "1" I would rate the hotel a "9"

really awful except for Gustavo...

Liked: the only enjoyable part of the stay was the waiter Gustavo from the restaurant inside.
Disliked: i didn't enjoy how disrespectful some members of staff had treated us. after traveling for 14 hours we were met with a very rude staff member who was extremely unhelpful and was letting people cut the line in front of us to help them first because she didn't believe i had my own reservation made. there was also a mix up with breakfast vouchers and when going to fix it the same staff member seemed annoyed to be helping us and was again extremely rude while we were just trying to figure out what went wrong. (Jasmine Flores was the staff member in question)
