Liked: Close and within walking distance for walking in the downtown
Disliked: Our view was not great and the room had a distinct smell. Kind of old and haven’t been used in awhile. One of the mattresses made noise when ever you sat on it. Our rate didn’t include breakfast. Therefore was inconvenient to us in the morning.

Superb

Great place to stay for...

Liked: We arrived just about supper time and had a very early flight the next morning. Everything was just as I had expected - clean, comfortable and kindly staff.
Disliked: I had no issues with anything. We didn't get to eat breakfast there, so I can't comment on that - our flight left at 6:30, so we were at the airport by 5.

We love it here!

Liked: The on site restaurant was delicious and the staff was exceptionally friendly. Our room was very clean and our bed was very comfortable!

Great staff, easy place to...

Liked: Pretty standard Hilton Garden Inn as far as rooms and amenities, but this location was exceptionally clean and had great staff. Every staff person I interacted with was extremely friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make it a good stay.
Disliked: Restaurant food could be better. Breakfast buffet was good but dinner options had cheap/low quality ingredients for the price of the meal.

Disappointing

Liked: The staff was excellent
Disliked: The view of the harbour was blocked by buildings and the restaurant was bad

great stay in St John's

Liked: I had just finished walking a big chunk of the East Coast trail and wanted to treat myself to a fancy stay for rest. Being in a tent every night and hiking 8 hours a day really wears you down so I definately needed a few nights at the Hilton !! Hotel was a short 5 minute walk to water and George Street. The room was spacious and comfortable. I also liked that there was a microwave in the room because you can go pretty wild spending money at all the restaurants and bars :p. good for the leftovers and some saving money. The staff was friendly and ready to help. I had a lovely conversation with Jen who was incredibly welcoming to the hotel as well as the city. :)
Disliked: for the price, I would at least hope for continental breakfast.

Disliked: The fact that the pool was out of commission.
