The staff went out of their way to help me in and out of my room. When asked a question or asked to do something they went above and beyond. I couldn't have asked for anything more.
Liked: Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Our stay was disappointing at...
Liked: The location was great. Walking distance to everything we had planned for the weekend. Room was as expected, bed was fine.
Disliked: The elevators were broken. Despite making our reservation almost 2 months in advance, we were not notified until we were checking in that the elevators were broken. We had asked for an early check in at 12. They were not able to accommodate that which was fine. HOWEVER when we returned to the hotel after 7pm they still could not find us an available room. When we finally checked in, we asked for additional items for the room and were assured they would be brought "right up" when we checked out 2 days later, the items had not been delivered.

Disappointing
Disliked: The staff were quite rude and incredibly unhelpful, elevators where out of order and only being operated manually by staff members, had to wait up to 25 for them to come and collect you

Poor customer service, lift not...
Liked: Lift not working, had to wait half an hour every time we wanted to get out of our floor. People got trapped in the lift, and they had to catch a plane. People lost tickets of shows due to the waiting time for the lift. No gym, no laundry. Staff was rude.. not a pleasant stay. The only good thing was the proximity to the Times Square.

An extremely awful experience
Liked: The location of the hotel was great
Disliked: We reached Hilton Garden Inn New York Central Park South-Midtown West an hour past the check in time to a chaotic lobby, wherein the lifts were down due to a pipe burst in the 2nd and 3rd floor. We were made to wait 2 hours after the agreed upon check in time. The staff provided us a room on the 22nd floor and offered no help with our luggage despite the elevators being down. To make things worse, we were also not provided any key card despite the 2 hour wait. Eventually we had to carry all our luggage to the 22nd floor and a staff member had to use his universal key to let us into our room. When we wanted to check in with the front desk regarding the readiness of our key-card, the phone in the room was down. We were basically stranded on the 22nd floor with no elevator, no staff and no way of contacting the front desk. After climbing up to the 22nd floor with all our luggage, the only water we could find in the room was for $3. The least they could have done in this situation was given us some water/refreshing beverage. The hair dryer in our room was also not working. We want a refund for our stay because after getting up to the 22nd floor with all our luggage, we had no energy left to go explore New York City for the night. We could only manage to step out much later at night due to the above mentioned situation. It was an overall terrible experience. We understand that it was an unexpectedly bad situation at the hotel but it was handled poorly by the staff.The elevator was not fixed even during our checkout the next day.

Bad
Disliked: Upon checkin (which was after 9pm) was told elevators were not working. I am on the 31st floor... so had to text someone to come get me which took anywhere between 15-35 minutes. WIFI was not working. Shower was not hot at all and had little to no pressure. Was like a trickle of water. After speaking with the front desk, they told me that I could have found another hotel if I was unsatisfied... I am not going to search for a new hotel at 9 at night in a city I am not familiar with. Extremely unsatisfactory experience.
