The staff went out of their way to help me in and out of my room. When asked a question or asked to do something they went above and beyond. I couldn't have asked for anything more.
Liked: Staff was very friendly and helpful.

A pretty good place to...
Liked: The location is convenient to all things in mid-town Manhattan. The bed and pillow were comfortable and it was nice having a refrigerator and microwave in the room.
Disliked: We had a number of issues with the room. The first night we couldn't sleep at all because there was a steel plate on the road in front of the hotel and every time a car drove over it, it made a noise so loud it was like a small explosion. This was the fault of the city, not the hotel, and we were moved to a different room the next day. Unfortunately, the toilet in the new room wouldn't flush and the water pressure in the shower was so low you had to lean against the wall near the shower head to get any water on your body. The plumber did come up to the room late in the day to fix these issues. The next morning we awoke to find the bathroom light blinked on and off when turned on. We reported this and it was "fixed" by turning off one of the bulbs in the light. Sadly, it was the light over the sink, so to shave or put on makeup, one had to stand behind the toilet to get sufficient light. In all cases, the staff was sympathetic and did their best to improve things. To top off our stay, the last evening there the fire alarm went off and hotel guests had to evacuate the building. It was bad enough for this 70-year-old to walk down 12 flights of stairs, but the hotel has 34 floors and had I been on a very high floor I wonder if I would have made it out if there had actually been a fire. The apparent cause of the alarm was a guest smoking in one of the rooms. We were told by the staff that this happens at least once a month. Yikes!

Very good
Liked: We liked our stay in Hilton Garden Inn hotel. The location was for us very good, close to many attractions, Hell´s kitchen area with nice restaurants and pubs and also close to the subway. Staff was very helpful, in the hotel and also in the restaurant where we had breakfast.
Disliked: The room was rather small for 2 adults an 2 children (13,15) but for few nights it was no problem.

Perfect location for all NYC...
Liked: Amazing location in between Times Square and Central Park; ideal to see all attractions. Off a main avenue so road not too busy. Really good buffet breakfast, best scrambled eggs. Room well supplied and comfortable bed. Sound proof rooms
Disliked: Not enough elevators for amount of guests. We were also initially overcharged but once we alerted staff to this, they were very helpful to correct this and made it up to us.

Comical, pathetic service with undertrained...
Liked: How well the staff manning the elevator tried to support guests as the elevators were not working automatically
Disliked: The reality of having to walk up and down the stairs on the 10th floor. The fact that no one was available to work the elevator at 3.30am when we needed to leave to catch an early flight from JFK. Staff had little leadership & guests were stuck with pathetic service. Zero effort to actually try to help guests - the fire alarm debacle was unacceptable. Try harder!
