Good hotel for the price

Liked: The location and the room were what we were expecting
Disliked: The pool was not heated, we were traveling with kids and that's why we chose this hotel. So we couldn't use it because it was too cold ❄️

Awful

Liked: It was dirty. The water was freezing when we tried to shower and so was the pool. It was not worth the money what so ever I wish we stayed elsewhere

Great!!!

Liked: Although they were in the process of renovating the Facility they took every precautionary measure to ensure safety first. They were extremely concerned that we were comfortable with our room. The room was clean with crisp white sheets and a warm blanket. I was exhausted but I was impressed with the cleanliness of the carpets and the bathroom. I will return when I am in the Groton area next year.

Disappointing

Liked: It was in a major renovation and we got to our room late at night. There was no garbage there was no clock. There was no curtain or shade for the middle of the window, so there was light in the room the entire night.

Not recommended

Liked: In both stays at this property a week apart, both rooms had Keurig coffee makers that did not function. Also, Hilton has eliminated breakfast buffets, in lieu of table service for clearly overpriced food items. The comfortable bustle of people that we are so accustomed to at breakfast amounted to three people in the dining room. Clearly, hotel guests are rejecting this new table service concept. Nothing is available a la carte, so it was impossible to order something as simple as a cheese or spinach omelette, without the usual side of sausages, which I do not eat. We will definitely not stay at this hotel again, and will likely avoid Hilton Garden Inns in the future as well.

So bad we did not...

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: The Inn was under major renovations. There was a side entrance, temporary check in desk, no eating area, basically no amenities. Construction work using jack hammers. There was no way we were going to stay there. Ended up cancelling and going to another Inn.

Staff was kind but the...

Liked: The staff was really kind.
Disliked: We stayed 2 nights and on the first night we had to have our room changed, the first room wasn’t ready for us so they gave us another room. We were so tired that we didn’t pay attention to the room until the next day when we woke up. The bed was very dirty, the toilet didn’t flush, and the cable stopped working. When I told staff they were very kind and changed our room again. The 3rd room was great but I was charged for a room with 2 queen beds and the rooms we were given throughout our stay was a king bed. We were informed we would get a discount and complimentary breakfast and we didn’t get anything. Also the pool didn’t open till later in the afternoon on Saturday but we were informed in the morning the pool would open “soon”.
