First time visit, very pleased
Liked: Everything was wonderful! This was our first stay at a Hilton Garden Inn, but it definitely won't be our last. Beautiful building and amenities. The staff (Kathleen and Cindy) went above and beyond! Huge room with accessible bathroom. Great breakfast buffet.

This could have been my...
Liked: Found breakfast totally overpriced for what was offered. But, as staff observed that husband only had a bowl of cereal, while I only toasted a bagel to apply a tub of peanut butter to, we were not charged the full continental breakfast price of $12.99
Disliked: Maintenance. And communication. We encountered some minor maintenance issues with our room (primarily not-working lights). The operator (desk clerk) claimed to note them for the "Maintenance man" (I called them in around 7? 8? pm and he was off duty) but they did not get addressed the next day, either. Then we packed up and left. Also, I stayed in 3 different levels of the Hilton brand during this almost-one-week-long trip to Colorado (Denver area). The Tapestry (higher level) had better bedtime reading lighting and, interestingly enough, the Doubletree (lower level) also had better bedtime reading lighting. For someone who has older eyes and needs better light to read her hard copies, this was a pretty critical issue. I still don't know where I belong in the Hilton branding tree - I need to be sure I can read my paper copies in bed and the lighting at this location, Garden Inn Longmont, was super sub-par. Part of that is that there was no working overhead light (a maintenance issue ignored) but, really, the flexible bedside lights, with the additional lights of the fixtures chosen, JUST. DID. NOT. WORK. They worked for my husband reading on his iPad - additional lighting augmented his experience. But the fixtures were very poor choices for 68 yo eyes that only need reading glasses (and decent light) to read their paper copy of a book. Also, at 6:20 am, I went down to use the pool and my key card could not let me into the pool room. Walked back to the front counter and she asked me for my identity. I did not have it on me so she very cleverly walked me to the pool room, but asked me to use my card to see if it would let me into the laundry room (en route). It did so I ended up swimming solo in the pool room. Next morning - same problem. My key card did not work to let me into the pool room. I am calling this another maintenance fail.
