Don't stay here
Disliked: As a UCD alumni, staying at this hotel was the most upset part of our trip. When I was still studying in davis, I always thought that this hotel was in a great location and the service and environment should be one of the best in davis. But now I would say don't stay here, you can totally get a better stay for less money. We stayed at the hotel for four nights and we never have house keeping, even sometimes the front desk was not willing to provide bottled water (there was nothing in the room when we check in). Some of the front desk staff were happy to provide water and even asked us how much we needed, but one informed us that she wouldn't provide us with bottled water unless we were diamond members. I didn't understand why at all.

Liked: The staff was responsive and professional when sink in bathroom broke. Great location
Disliked: Property is in need of full renovation. Sink pipe in bathroom was broken, the elevator is old and falling apart, and the carpet is stained and smells. The airconditioner was very loud but necessary due to smell of carpet

3 room changes in all,...
Liked: Location, 3rd bedroom I was given was best and comfortable. Staff was helpful by giving me a better room after 1st night awful. Had to change rooms 3 times in all. At checkout, manager was very attentive to hear about situation and offered bonus points and apology. If I had not been offered the 3rd room/suite, not sure I would have ever come back.
Disliked: Checked in and room was freezing, turned on heater. Came back to room still freezing. Looked up directions for heater/air still didn't work. Called down and was told no one on call to help so gave me a new room downstairs. The room was 1st floor, kind dingy, worn and dirty. Perhaps why it wasn't booked. . Bathroom smelt like septic and perfume. (someone had tried to cover the smell?) The sheer window covering was missing, no lock on the window and lights from courtyard were bright into room.. Tried to get some fresh air from septic/perfume smell and felt unsafe as no way to open window securely. Did not feel safe on 1st floor with no sheer window covering or security for window. I was a single woman in room, staying to see my son for Parent's Weekend. Someone walked by window at 4am. Asked to change back to original room in the morning and was told it was booked. Would have preferred freezing room at that point. Had to change rooms 3 times in all! Was given a suite when they understood I only needed a single bed and complained about 2nd room.... 3rd room was fantastic and really liked the view and felt safe upstairs. Thank you! At checkout, manager (woman working Sunday morning Nov 3rd) was very attentive to hear about situation and offered bonus points and apology.
