I would highly recommend staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Chelsea. Friendly staff; nice location; room was clean, roomy and comfortable.

Nice, clean, nice people, big...

Liked: Very nice big room, clean and comfortable. I am a littel putoff by steel doors, but I guess it is downtown Manhattan.
Disliked: The enterence is a little putoff - cold and not welcoming. Staff is though.

Not as we expected

Liked: Unlike our experience with the room assigned to us in this place, the pictures on Booking make the place look quite good. To us, our room presented itself less well maintained than we would have expected based on the pictures (and also for the room rate we paid). On a positive note: As being in the room was not making us feel very comfortable, we stayed out of the hotel a lot and spent more time sightseeing than we usually would.
Disliked: We got a room close to ground level (though we did ask the hotel for a quiet room higher up with a nice view at the time of booking). As we did not book a specific floor option, we accepted (a bit sadly though) that the hotel had ignored our request. We felt far more disappointed to find other issues with the room. We assume that parts of the room were probably not properly vacuum-cleaned for some time, judging by the dust fluff (and other clutter) under the beds. The coffee maker did not look tidy either (so we did not use it throughout our stay). The interior appeared worn and the paint on the bathtub had already started to peel off at various spots. Overall, we did not enjoy our stay.

Excellent location and nice ,...

Liked: Excellent location, close to two metro stops and walking distance to Penn station (with trains to JFK and to EWR airports). The street has a flower market during the day, which is lovely. The staff was very kind and helpful.
Disliked: There is not much of a lobby, the restaurant was closed .

Very good

Liked: Great location, spacious rooms, big and well illuminated bathroom.
Disliked: The breakfast included is rather poor, too expensive for what it offers, you better pay directly and choose from the menu. The lobby needs renovation. No slippers. The room lights are not enough.

lovely location, decent value for...

Liked: great location in the in the flower district. was lovely walking out each morning. staff were wonderful. helpful, welcoming & genuine.

Great location, facilities could be...

Liked: The location is amazing. It is close to everything by foot, and there are also a couple of nearby subway stops.The staff was helpful and welcoming, although we didn't get a response by email about early checking, when we arrived earlier our room was ready for us which was great. The room was pretty big, the bed was comfy and the overall cleanliness was ok.
Disliked: The place is a bit run-down. Small and not expensive upgrades could make the place so much better and it's not clear why they're not done - like changing the toilet seat (it looked used and bad), and painting the doors. There is almost no shower pressure.The A/C made a lot of noise, and it was the only way to air the room - except for opening the windows, which was problematic since we slept on the street side, and there was constant noise from the city outside.
