Liked: Location, and familiarity: I have stayed here multiple times previously over 25 years.
Disliked: Buyer beware. This hotel has become extremely rundown and is at best a two star which grabs money at every turn. Terribly overpriced (you have to pay a surcharge of around £10 now to use the hotel’s own car park which you are told on arrival, there is no other way to reach the hotel. Example: on a recent stay in the middle of winter they put me in a room with no heating (it was broken) and I was expected to pay full whack, and sleep fully dressed in my clothes and boots. No staff to bring a heater, couldn’t guarantee a change of room would be one with heating. Smirking, inexperienced staff and computer says no attitude. It was 9 degrees all night in the room with very thin bedding. Customer care over this appalling, refused a refund or any money back and I had paid in advance.

Disliked: Breakfast all as expected, coffee significantly worse than expected, when is auto-machine coffee palatable? .. very very rarelyShower: Probably the worst shower i've had the misfortune to experience - hardly any water flow. My room (#331) was freezing after i checked in 11.30pm, so took a shower to warm me up while waiting for room to heat up. Complete waste of time. Water flow was so low could hardly get wet never mind warm. Room took hours to warm up. No extra duvets, so shivered for some hours before i coud get to sleep
