Staying Inn

Liked: Warm, quiet and comfortable. Food was excellent and staff were attentive. Room was furnished simply, but very clean.
Disliked: The town itself is small. The Highlander does a great job at providing sound accomodation in a hospitable way.

Time warp

Liked: The rooms were ok, headroom in the twin room was quite limited. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean.
Disliked: This place is in a bit if a time warp, the decor is very much dated, a bit like popping in to see yer granny. The supper was very disappointing, cheap frozen chips! A member of our party had a chicken dish, the chicken was dry and tough, inedible, the mange tout still had the rinds on, also inedible. We were offered a free desert as a gesture, but the full price for the inedible dish was still charged. A member also had a whisky tasting, this came with no information , when asked if we could have a list for reference, if it wasn't too much trouble, the reply was that it would be a fair bit of trouble, in the end the names of each whisky were just written on a scrap of paper, definitely spoilt the experience somewhat. There were plugs on only one side in the twin room.

Liked: Friendly ,good value ,close to where we needed to be .
Disliked: Bedroom was lovely but paintwork in bathroom needing a refresh .( would definitely use again ) rest of hotel was lovely and welcoming
