Great We love whitby

Liked: breakfast was great location great.
Disliked: Nothing the Guest house was great had a movie theatre theme about it, a lot of time and effort had been spent on the décor.

Exceptional

Liked: We had a fabulous stay at High Tor guest House. The hosts John and Lisa made it an exceptional break. The attention to detail we have not experienced better. The decor each piece of art and furniture so unique. The room was very clean with a big comfy bed. There was an array of tea and coffee choice and to my delight hot chocolate the most amazing tasting local biscuits and a bag of chocolates. Lisa makes the most amazing breakfast with a good choice, all made with locally sourced produce. John was the friendliest host making us feel very welcome. We had booked for 2 nights but were stranded due to bad weather at home he went above and beyond so that last minute we could stay an extra night. The hotel is well positioned close the all the wonderful sights that Whitby has to offer. We would not stay anywhere else when visiting Whitby.

We knew we loved Whitby,...

Liked: Rather than just being 'a place to stay' High Tor Guest House made our 3 days in Whitby even better than we had expected it to be. The location is excellent, but we knew that. The quality of the whole guest house - the decor, the superb framed pictures of cinematic and musical greats, the quality of the bedroom/bathroom and the dining area for breakfast was terrific. The breakfast itself, comprised of fresh locally sourced produce and cooked to perfection and to order got each day off to a superb start. And John and Lisa are outstanding hosts - attentive but respectful, always ensuring we had everything we needed, including orgainsing and paying for a car park permit extension so we could check out later than planned/agreed. And then the small added value touches - the bag of sweets and the biscuits in the room! We will definitely be staying here again and are looking forward to it already!
