Liked: - Banff public transit passes are included.- Close to beautiful trails for hikes.- Easygoing and helpful staff.- Great views of the surrounding mountains.- Parking lot with many spots (p.s.: I travelled during low season)- Good bed, sheets, etc.

Disliked: Kitchen area was not all that clean and very minimalSeating. Nowhere to really sit and play a game and visit. In general the facility seemed like it could use a good cleaning.

Great hostel

Liked: Very much enjoyed staying at HI Banff. Nice hostel and staff. The cafe on side was great and had good food options. You can get free puplic transport tickets for the bus or walk a couple of minutes down the road into the city centre. Parking available as well. All in all great hostel. I woud stay here again.

Liked: Basement rooms are small, but beds are comfy. Kitchen is well equipped and dining room is big enough. Terrace is nice with great views and cafe has affordable coffee. Hostel gives a free ticket for all local buses and I do recommend taking all buses: to Minnewanka lake, Sulphur mountains, etc All locations are worth visiting. Nice hikes start nearby.
Disliked: Hostel is located a bit far away, but there's a bus going from the centre. With a free ticket from reception getting to the place is easy.
