The north loop is too...

Disliked: used valet parking and my car and 4 others from the hotel where broke into. Police would NOT come to scene!!!!!! Car was parked in open lot right on Washington St which has all of the pedestrians parting all over.

Great staycation spot!

Liked: It's a very nice hotel. We go for the rooftop pool (basically a hot tub) and the sauna. Their restaurant is also delicious, although they don't have a ton of vegan options on the menu. You can pay for the chef to make you a meal though which is a plus!
Disliked: Restaurant options for food, or even just one main course dish that's vegan friendly. The drink menus are different from the rooftop bar to the restaurant. So if you fall in love with an upstairs drink, you probably can't get it at the restaurant.

Clean, good location, but the...

Liked: Good location in the North Loop near lots of eating choices, plus close to Target Field and a Whole Foods. The rooftop bar is also nice, but there are no outdoor heaters to allow sitting outside. Plus, the rooftop hot tub and sauna are nice, but only if the hot tub jets are working.
Disliked: The jets in the rooftop hot tub, which is why we picked this hotel in the first place, were out of order. The staff didn't even bother mentioning it or didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. There were a number of other small things too that just added up to just a decent visit, not the excellent visit we had hoped for. For example, the hot and cold water in the room was hard to regulate in the shower and the sink. The mini fridge also kicked on every 10-15 minutes and made a rattling noise that made it annoying while we were trying to sleep. Last, the pillows were great but the mattress was meh. We wound up waking up with sore backs.

Liked: Amazing rooftop spa area! Comfortable rooms with a modern-scandi design. The staff were very friendly and food and drinks were all fantastic.

Exceptional

Liked: The Hewing was a wonderful place to spend our anniversary. It's location is the best: it's a lively area with lots of restaurants and unique shops. The sauna and hot tub on the roof were a treat in the cold temperatures. And we had a great breakfast and dinner on site. We were able to walk around the city easily as well.

We will return in 2...

Liked: Unique. Welcoming. Excellent bar/restaurant. Hip.
Disliked: Some of the text and email messages were not clear or mistaken and repetitive. Room serviice was not explained or in any pamphlets in our room. Limited restaurant menu, confusing elevator operation.

Love the Hewing, not the...

Liked: We love the Hewing and how close it is to fun bars & restaurants but the price is high for what the hotel is.
Disliked: High cost of rooms.
