The room and staff were...
Liked: The staff we bumped into in the hallways etc were all exceptionally friendly. The room was spacious and clean.
Disliked: I got sick from eating the shrimp tom yum soup. It was clearly the soup because it did not digest and sat in my stomach until I vomited it up. My meal was credited without question, which was great. But I wonder what had happened with the shrimps or soup to make me sick, ie how had it been kept.

Rather dated hotel
Liked: The view is fantastic, make sure you book a room with lake view
Disliked: It is all a bit past grandeur. The room was highlighted as refurbished, but didn't say when it was refurbished. Asking staff it seems that this was some time ago. They say parking, reservation not needed, when they mean that reservation is not possible. Our room seemed very musty and smelled of mothballs

Liked: The room was adequate, and faciliities were great for our sons wedding and reception.
Disliked: Maybe a shuttle service every hour or two into the main part of town might be something to think about... just a thought

Liked: Friendly staff.Comfortable bed.Hotel us store our luggage when we went to a hike for a few days.
Disliked: Hotel is about a 15-20 minute uphill walk from downtown Queenstown or about a ten nzd uber ride. Hotel looks quite dated.Toiletries are of poor quality.
