Pleasant

Liked: The main castle and staff were wonderful.
Disliked: Stayed off property at upjohn house. Floors were dirty, sink was dirty, coffee pot with no cups. I was told the employee would help once we arrived. No staff! Stepped on a nail. Also a foul smell coming from the bathroom at the main entrance. Very disappointing.

A nice place to visit,...

Liked: The castle itself was really cool. It was clean and the staff was nice.
Disliked: Dinner was good, but the temperature was not as it should have been. The seafood and steaks were barely warm when they were served to us. Also, we were told the hot tub was working. When we went to check it out, it was lukewarm at best. It could not be used because it was too cold. It also snowed the night we were there. In the morning, nothing had been shoveled and no salt had been put down. This is something that should have been done immediately, in my opinion.

Superb

Expectations were well over met....

Liked: Breakfast was a treat, wish I was more of a breakfast person. The whole property was enjoyable. Must be amazing in the Fall!
Disliked: Just a little chilly in the bathroom with it being winter and tile but that is expected.

Exceptional

Liked: It was a wonderful piece of history. The staff were amazing.

Not a friendly place to...

Liked: The place was very beautiful. Very clean.
Disliked: The staff is very unfriendly. Any time we asked questions it was like we were bothering the girl. We booked a facial on line before we went and when we got there we found out they were not doing them the 30 and the 31. I was offered to come back in 3 weeks but unfortunately I am not driving 6 hours just for that. We had also asked about the spa and hot tub. Be prepared to figure it out yourself because they are not helping!!! We also verified the time with the manager that it colored at 10 and he said nope not tonight it is 9. We decided that we would not stay for dinner there after all the unfriendly help so we went out to eat. When we got back it was dark out side. My 76 year old grandmother ended up falling on the pathway to the cottage. There is a dip where the walk way has sunken in. I talked to the young man in the morning about how the needed to light up the walk way or fix it because she had fallen the night before and he said he would tell his manager. No one ever followed up to check and see if she was ok. Thankful she was. It is so disheartening because this was supposed to be my Christmas present. The only thing I got was the stay in the house. Everything else was closed or not available. So sad. This could have been an amazing place but turned out so disappointing. Will never ever ever go back.

This day was nothing like...

Liked: Didn't like the cheep breakfast. As much as we paid for that room we should have been able to have a full-fledged but breakfast
Disliked: Well I had to leave early in the morning and there was no lights on outside I tripped and fell in my face down two or three steps got nice bruises and soreness to prove it I was not happy

Liked: The ambience and environment is amazing! The staff is accommodating and friendly! All around a great time!
Disliked: I wish the hot tubs would have been open and there were more food options , snacks, or drinks for those staying overnight.
