Excellent location and very friendly...

Liked: Our stay at the Heights was as we expected - we have stayed there before. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Sitting in the bistro bar area in the evening to watch the sunset was quite a sight.
Disliked: The hotel bar left rather a lot to be desired - the bar stock was very limited. No decent malt whiskies or bacardi rum available.

Liked: Excellent view and no doubt why the price is high. The staff were keen to please.
Disliked: The hotel needs much more investment to meet the needs of the modern traveller. Whilst clean, furnishings, lighting and towels need attention. It all felt rather functional than luxury. Room was OK. Breakfast on day 1 was disappointing- all dried out. A busier second day showed improvement.

Disliked: The fact that the booking was non refundable.

Liked: Convenient for visiting family on Portland, great views, plenty of parking. Tasty breakfast.
Disliked: A little shabby in places. Hate the shower curtain especially on the very narrow bath.

Liked: Fabulous location, within easy reach of beautiful walks, museums, and beach.Our room was on the ground floor, and it had doors open out to a courtyard, with a lovely seating area just outside.Very friendly and welcoming staff and two lovely eateries with stunning views down onto Chisel Beach.The food was outstanding, we had most meals at the hotel, it was always well presented, whether it was breakfast buffet, Sunday carvery, snack, or main meal choice from the menus.

Disliked: Facilities were very tired. The first room we encountered was full of mould so we changed and the nice lady at the reception gave us another room.

OK but nothing to remember...

Liked: Pleasant hotel however the rooms are noisy (in that you can hear any noise from the corridor). Slept badly due to noise and lumpy bed and banging heating pipes. Breakfast a good starter for a hearty day. Dinner OK but ate out on 2nd night.
Disliked: stayed 2 nights and the room was not cleaned mid stay which was a shame, heating pipes and noise banging. I had expected better for the price. I will have to stay again as there is limited to no other choice on Portland.
