Liked: Excellent breakfast set in cafe area, very nice service

Liked: The location is excellent, almost in the center of town.Initially, the heating wasn't working, but it was eventually resolved, and it worked very well. We appreciate the manager's efforts to help, although we didn't let him in as we were already preparing to sleep and the heating had started working.We parked our car just behind the property, which isn't free. We paid £10.5 per night via RingGo, which we found to be a reasonable price.
Disliked: The room could be cleaner; there was dust on the toilet tank.The power sockets are located behind the bedside table, which makes them quite inconvenient to use. We had to pull out the table every time we needed to plug in.We must mention that breakfast was a bit disappointing. We were given a form to select our breakfast choices, and we ticked "traditional British breakfast" and "syrup muffin" (we can't recall the exact name, but we thought it was a dessert option for breakfast). The next morning, we were only served the syrup muffin without any confirmation of our preference. It would be better if the girl asked which option we preferred when two items are selected on the breakfast form.

Liked: It was really easy to check in, even late at night after attending an event nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was tasty.
Disliked: We initially didn’t have bath towels but this was quickly rectified by the helpful staff.

Excellent stay

Liked: Really clean, tidy, and the instructions for checking in were straightforward. The breakfast was delicious. The staff were nice. The location is great.
Disliked: The bed was not the most comfortable. And i am a very sensitive person when it comes to light, there is a smoke detector on the ceiling that kept emitting green light in the dark that kept me awake at night. But i don't think it would be a problem for other people.

Grasmere is pretty but i...

Liked: Chef is amazing, really lovely, well prepared breakfast. Room really clean and attention paid to detail. Staff kind and attentive.
Disliked: I knew ahead of time that there is no parking, but it still drives you crazy. Particularly when all the local car parks charge 10.00 overnight fee. I feel sorry for the team running Heidi’s and others like it. The council can just charge what they like. The Co-op was closed so nowhere to buy food. Couldn’t book in anywhere for an evening meal unless I wanted to go at 5 pm.
