Amazing hotel in a panoramic...
Liked: From the moment my wife and I arrived we loved the hotel which welcomed us with its art deco character and warm staff, from Charlie on reception, to Fiona making sure our room was comfy to Pip in the bar and restaurant all three are a credit to the hotel. We stayed in the Lakeland suite which had a Japanese plunge bath a separate lounge and bedroom and the star attraction was the balcony which provided the most breathtaking view of the lake and peaks. The hikes were amazing and the hotel is in a prime location for access to the fells and peaks, we will be back with our daughters and dogs to share this wonderful gem in a tranquil and beautiful setting in the lakes.

A lovely stay in a...
Liked: The hotel itself is very interesting in a fantastic location. The food is good but not really the fine dining experience they claim it to be.

Nice location.
Liked: Nice and quiet. Comfortable and nice decor.
Disliked: Breakfast is chaotic, very poor organisation. Booked a lake view room, was overlooking garden at side so a side lake view. Have this alot when using booking.com, hotels give you the worst room going given its booked through third party.

Profit over customer experience.
Liked: I contacted the hotel prior to our stay to request a late checkout due to clocks going forward and us losing an hour. I was advised I could pay additional for a late checkout despite the fact losing an hour was not our fault and we were already paying £300 for the room for less than 24 hours. This itself put me off and had we been in the cancellation window I would have cancelled, however we sought to eat elsewhere instead. Profit over customer experience is never a good sign. We had a lake view room except we couldn't see the lake unless we stood at the window which was facing garden. The room was freezing and drafty, unfortunately very high winds didn't help but we had to plug a hole in the beam that was letting a huge draft through. There was something rattling in the wind all night, certain it was the shutters on the windows, there was a generator or a washing machine running much of the night, so our sleep was poor for many reasons. Breakfast was nothing to write home about a tablespoon of beans with it was sad. Wish I'd just done an Airbnb.
