Mouldy bathroom

Liked: Stayed in room 19. Staff were polite, but the bathroom was covered in mould and the bed was very bumpy. Centre heating didn't work, and unlike other rooms, was not provided with a plug in heater

Very poor

Liked: Swimming facilities
Disliked: The hotel facilities are as old as the building and the mattresses are as hard as the doors

Don't bother.

Liked: Dirty bathroom. No glasses, not enough cups or bath towels, when we had booked for 3 had to keep going outside to go reception for the things that should have been on there already as it was a family room, but no phone to call, the steps were dark and covered in leaves, very slippy. Very expensive, food expensive. Asked for onion rings and got told it was a posh establishment, but then when we wanted vinegar, they came out with sachets. Being told can only have one piece of bacon and sausage on my breakfast, even when that's all my grandma wanted. Mould on the shower curtain and very cold in the room, hard beds. Never stay again.

Heaven for a day and...

Liked: We arrived early but was not an issue . The staff were extremely helpful . Our room was very spacious and comfortable and it was very quiet. We were right by the front entrance but never heard a vehicle once. We went down for a drink and spent quite a time chatting to the barman, a very friendly gentleman with sound knowledge of the area . We went in for food. As we had booked a table and were very quickly given a menu and ordered drinks . Again the staff were very friendly and attentive. Once we’d ordered food it was a short wait then we were given a plate of food worthy of a king , it was presented well and tasted amazing superbly cooked . After the meal we sat in the bar and had a few more drinks chatting to other residents who were also very happy with the hotel. That night we both slept very well and woke fresh and energised. Breakfast was again superbly prepared and cooked perfectly.our compliments to the chef . We booked out at about 10.30 and spent the next two hours in the hotel’s swimming pool, spa ,steam room and jacuzzi with no extra charge . Well done everyone and excellent stay had and will definitely go back

Functional Stay

Liked: Easy to get to in a good location especially if you are local as I once was. The leisure facilities looked good and extensive although we didn't get chance to use them. The room was large and the bed very comfortable.
Disliked: The radiator in the room did not work although there was a portable heater in the room so this took the chill off - it may have been very cold in mid winter. The walls seem very thin, we could hear others conversations in neighbouring rooms word for word. Overall I was expecting more, and with a little money spent it could look more like the picture on the website.

Terrible

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: So many things but mainly the staff were unhelpful towards my dietary needs, and that the mattress was so lumpy that I got a bruise from one of the springs and couldn’t walk for days due to a bad back
