Exceptional

Great spa and comfy room!

Liked: Lots to do in the spa, good choice of food in the restaurant, very clean and comfy room.
Disliked: The hot water was intermittent, there was nowhere to visit on foot from the hotel.

Beautiful setting

Liked: When we went to check in we got offers an upgrade, I questioned why we think it had something to do with the wedding party that was in when we got into the room it was very cosy bed was very comfortable and the room was called the swallow which is also my partners last name which was nice

Disappointing as pretty tired property

Disliked: Room very tired and dates as was the hotel generally

Disliked: it would be nice to have some amenities like outlet/plug adapters to borrow for the night(s).

Exceptional

Liked: I was scared when I read some of the bad reviews but when we arrived at the hotel everything was great! We were checked in within 5 minutes and we also booked a place in the spa and a table for a late dinner! The room was small and without a view from the window as this was the only option left and all the rooms were taken. But this was not a problem the room was very warm, cosy and clean! The spa had a calm and cosy atmosphere and we had a great time! When we came to the restaurant we were kindly given a table with a view of the garden by the window which was very nice! The food in the restaurant was delicious and the staff was polite. Our meals were brought very quickly and consistently, thank you very much we enjoyed the food! We also saw some ill-mannered guests in the restaurant who were arguing with the staff although we were happy with everything, the service was impeccable! This kind of behaviour is not acceptable in Britain and it was a surprise to me! Breakfast was held in a relaxed atmosphere, the choice of dishes exceeded my expectations, not every 5-star hotel provides such a breakfast, respect! We had a wonderful weekend! Thank you!

Liked: Friendly staff. Lovely building, great spa.
Disliked: Spa time limited, check what you've paid for. Despite booking a room with Spa access I was told I only had 1 hour per day due to booking with a 3rd party. This was upgraded by the staff when challenged. There was a party going on on Friday evening and the noise didn't stop until almost midnight; I could hear everything from my room and couldn't sleep until the party finished.
