This 17th-century-style country house is set in 200 acres of parkland. It is a luxury hotel with its own PGA Championship golf course an award-winning restaurant and a leisure center with pool sauna gym spa bath and steam rooms. Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel & Country Club is in the Hertfordshire countryside 25 miles from central London. Stansted Airport is less than 40 minutes away by car. The historic building mixes original character with modern luxury. The traditionally decorated rooms have luxury beds flat-screen TVs work desks and laptop safes. Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel & Country Club features Vardon's a sports bar with a large TV serving light meals and snacks. The traditional wood-paneled bar has a real fire and offers afternoon teas drinks and cocktails. Guests get 24 hours of free WiFi in the public areas. The more contemporary Cast Iron Grill has a terrace looking out over the 18th hole of the hotel's golf course. The hotel has free parking but does not have air con on property. The golf course was originally designed by Harry Vardon and later re-designed by Jack Nicklaus II. PGA professionals are on hand to assist and the hotel also offers a Golf Academy to help with tuition and improvement on golf.

Perfect escape.

Liked: History, scenery location. Little touches like a chocolate bauble delivered to room. Beautifully friendly staff.
Disliked: Room was quite cold but was a corner suite and very windy weather!

Pleasant weekend

Liked: The communal sitting areas are very comfortable and there is plenty of space to sit and relax. Real fires in the grates are a fabulous touch .
Disliked: The rooms are definitely showing their age. Especially the bathroom but it is an old building so décor not out of keeping .The pool was far to busy to be of any use.

Liked: A nice getaway for the night! Kept clean and staff are friendly.
Disliked: The spa isn’t as relaxing as expected.. noisy and bright
