Disappointed
Disliked: When we got there we booked via Booking.com, and we fully paid for the room on my debit visa. I use this card as a credit card. When I got to the hotel they would NOT accept it. I had to go through 2 people, get pretty stern ( I did not yell and I was not rude) but I had to repeat myself and finally the last time I said "YOu mean to tell me there is NOTHING you can do to help me since you won't accept by debit visa for the deposit and you will let me walk out of here and loose all this money?" FINALLY the manager said "Fine, we can do this one thing and charge your debit visa $200 for the deposit and not $50; then when you check out we will check your room and refund the deposit". I said "Thank you, go ahead and do that".It took TWO People and me several times repeating myself for her to help me! It was AWFUL customer service. When we got to the room, I found a hair elastic by the bed with a hair on the bed. There was no conditioner in the shower, it was completely empty and no kleenex in the box in the bathroom. We ordered from the in house restaurant DAS. It was great food but within a few hours I had stomach cramps and diarrhea, it ruined my entire night.

Good hotel to sleep but...
Liked: We liked our room and the bed. Very comfortable! The front desk staff and the breakfast staff were very professional and efficient. The location was perfect for a trip to St. Jacob’s Market. You are literally right there. The village of St. Jacobs is about a km down the road. The coffee and tea available at check-in were all cold when we arrived at 3:00 pm. If the service is offered it should be maintained. Also this might seem like a small issue to some but I only drink tea with milk (NOT cream because it’s sacrilege to even suggest it to a Brit!!). No milk anywhere. Not a deal breaker but if you are going to offer it, hot tea and milk would have been nice. Later we went to the restaurant to get a snack and ordered poutine. It came out cold and the fries were so soft they could have been mashed potatoes. They microwaved them for us and they were ok and we ate them but I wouldn’t order them again. The real issue was the breakfast. It was literally inedible and believe me when I say I’m not a picky eater. The eggs, turkey sausage and potatoes were horrible and also stone cold. I mentioned this to the staff and to their credit they were on it right away checking the food with thermometers and addressing the problem. The yogurt was just that - plain white yogurt with nothing to add to it. Breakfast ran for two hours from 8-10 am. We arrived at 9 am and all the muffins were gone (the options were quickly diminishing so we figured they would be a safe bet). I asked if more were coming out and the answer was no. However a couple of minutes later the young woman working there managed to scrounge up two for us. My husband ate his but I had to throw mine out. It was literally gooey on the one side because only half of it had baked. Although complimentary, we went to the market and spent money on breakfast. The food experience was a shame because the hotel itself is so nice and clean and the staff were lovely. If you don’t plan to eat there it’s fine.

Would think twice before returning...
Liked: It was close to all the things that we wanted to explore while we were in Waterloo
Disliked: When we arrived at the hotel, it was very messy in the foyer. It took a long time to check in. When we went to our room, we noticed there was hair in the shower and blood on the floor and wall near the toilet that had not been cleaned prior to us taking over the room when we went to move and pull out the couch for our third guest, there were chip crumbs all over the couch under the cushionsand hair all over the couch cushions. Also, there were fingerprints all over the inside of the window windows that were never wiped off.We attempted to enjoy the pool and a group of guests also came to enjoy the pool. They were cannon, bowling and being completely disrespectful to other guest swearing when there was children in the same room so ultimately we did not stay in that area along. .The location is great and I’m not one to complain, but there are some things that need some work . Primarily cleanliness.!!! Especially for the cost of the room for less than 24 hour.
