Stay clear of this Hampton...

Liked: The staff, not management, were very nice and clearly were not able to address the safety concerns and volatile situation of this hotel brought on by FEMA mandates and individuals staying at hotel indefinitely displaced by nearby flooding.
Disliked: This hotel is not safe. The environment is reminiscent of a shelter, which by itself is fine, but do not masquerade your establishment as a hotel and charge other patrons. There was security and police in the lobby area one evening when i returned from the hospital after caring for a good friend's mother, the sole reason for my visit to Detroit. My stay was 3 nights and every evening I was awoken at 3am by shouting, slamming doors and loud commotion. I addressed all of these concerns with management requesting my stay be fully compensated and that I should have been informed of the FEMA mandates and the condition of the hotel. They compensated me a nominal amount and blamed FEMA for mandating their hotel absorb displaced individuals due to nearby flooding. Management also explained they had to hire their own security and complained that they would probably not be compensated by the government any time soon as these displaced individuals could not afford what I am paying. I was dumbfounded to hear the manager's complaints and further outraged that he was venting. Hilton corporate did not address this issue either and basically washed their hands of the entire ordeal. Will NOT be staying at any Hilton establishment ever again.

Perfect & Cozy getaway weekend!

Liked: The hotel was better than I expected!! Very nice and clean. Me and my boyfriend were celebrating our anniversary and agreed we’d be back!!! The staff at the front desk were quite pleasant, and very helpful! The bed was comfortable and the A/C control was nice. Plenty of outlets, the tv does have Netflix (you just need to have your own login) The room was quite clean, I literally have no complaints!
Disliked: The only thing I didn’t like was being on the ground floor, because the noise from being right by the side door, and up above! But, it’s expected you know! Aside from that, I have no complaints!
