Liked: Breakfast was good. Bed were comfortable. The location of the hotel is perfect everything is close by. The pool is very nice.
Disliked: Hallways need to be updated. The night staff was very rude. She made sure not to ask for towels and made it very clear that she doesn't wash towels. I didn't ask her that question, but she made that very clear. The bathroom had mildew around the tub.

Liked: Good location, close to freeway and dining options.
Disliked: Rooms were lack luster, old and worn feeling. Not the usual Hampton Inn quality. Our room didn’t appear to have hot water. Upon checkout we shared this and were told it takes 10 mins to get hot water to that part of the building. A fact that should have been shared upon check in. Our stay was a pit stop between home and O’Hare to retrieve a family member, so skipping a shower didn’t kill us. But from a business perspective we paid to have the amenities offered and it fell short. How can you charge $130 a night and not have hot water readily available during winter. Also what a wasteful facility if you expect your guests to run water for 10 minutes just to get it hot before taking a shower. Management, don’t respond that we should have let your staff know once we discovered this because honestly it’s not my job to do your job for you. This was a known fact, us calling to notify you at 6am is a lil late for you to address it. Another note the “chef” smoked cigarettes at the trash can at the entrance to the hotel during breakfast, not appetizing. And why do you let your staff smoke cigarettes at the entrance, it’s not inviting to walk through cigarette smoke or smell it during breakfast.

Liked: We were in town for a whole week for my son's Navy graduation. The staff was great and accommodated our early check-in! Hampton Inn & suites in Waukegan was perfectly located for a quick drive and/or within walking distance to everything you could need from Walmart, restaurants, gas, banks, bowling alley, casino, dispensaries if that's your thing, and all the shopping you'll ever need! My room was very clean, plenty of towels and toiletries. The best part I would have to say is their breakfast, It's phenomenal!!
Disliked: The only thing I didn't like was the only single chair for sitting in my room was really dirty with stains and whatever else was on it... I temporarily draped clean towels over it, mentioned it to staff and was told they would look into it. It was a very busy week for graduations so I don't know if they just didn't have an extra chair available, but it was never replaced. You can tell the Hampton Inn is kind of old, not a lot of upgrades but nonetheless, very clean, within walking distance of anything you might need during your stay, great staff, and a phenomenal breakfast!!
