If you must, stay here...
Liked: The room was small but comfortable and well stocked.
Disliked: The staff was so incredibly unfriendly. So busy typing on their computers. Hardly ever a warm smile or welcoming word

Liked: Great restoration of historic building. Not your typical cookie cutter hotel. Hotel was clean, especially liked the modern bathroom.
Disliked: Bed was bit too hard for our taste

Ok one night
Liked: Quiet room, nice large bathroom, well restored and repurposed historic factory building, easy parking. Easy access to downtown Petaluma.
Disliked: A few things were less than optimal. The check-in parking area at the main entrance had room for one non handicapped car, and a 15 min limit. The overnight parking entrance on the other side of the building required a pass card and was located at the edge of smelly dog pooping area. First assigned room was across from room with loud yapping dog. Second room met expectation of quiet. Pet travelers should be confined to a separate wing. Beds were substandard to my usual Hampton experience. Room was small.

Excellent place to put in...
Liked: Hampton Inn Petaluma turned out, to my surprise, to be a very nice place to hang out for 3 nights. Reasonably priced, at least during the week (Fri/Sat nights quite a bit more $$). It's in a repurposed old silk factory, with exposed brick walls and a cool vibe, quite close to downtown (although it isn't a very pleasant walk, as there's lots of traffic on nearby Lakeview Blvd.) The room was large, with a sitting area and good bathroom. Staff seemed friendly. They allow dogs, with a single-stay, not nightly, charge of $50. The included breakfast was really good, a bit different every day, w/ eggs, bacon or sausage, & the usual assortment of bagels, you-make waffles, cereal, and fruit. Dining area is spacious and pleasant. Easy parking w/ EV charging avail. Nice, small property that felt comfy even though it's corporate.
Disliked: Well. . . .the hallways are very, very long & our room was a bit of a trek from the parking area w/ suitcases & the dog. No doubt because the place was a former factory, so the old shell was kept. minor point, really, everything else was pretty great.
