It was NOT the best...

Liked: We stayed at Hampton properties this trip in INDIANA, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Texas, and then this one in Springdale, AR. All the others were exceptional. I am a stage four breast cancer survivor and my wife chose these because of them being known for cleanliness and a great nutritional breakfast. I am considered handicapped and have a handicap license plate. When we arrived the front door wasn’t opening/working correctly. The staff member (a male with dark hair) said “Go back, back up and try again, you’re not doing it right!” We went back and forth on the front porch several times. Then he pushed on the doors and saw it wasn’t opening correctly, so he held the door open and then before giving us a room, or offering us any water or anything, picks up the phone and speaks in Spanish telling the maintenance that the door wasn’t working properly again and needed to be fixed. He didn’t know that my wife also knows Spanish. Another couple came in through the door and he said to us, “see, they know how to do it right!” We thought that was rude. He gave us one key (every other place had given us two), then I said, “well, maybe it’s because we’re handicapped.” He didn’t respond and we were told the room #. What we were not told was that there were two different elevators one going to rooms 0-20 on a floor and the other going to the larger numbers. My wife went to the wrong elevator and looked all over until she realized what was going on. She called me to tell me what happened so that I wouldn’t be bringing the luggage on the cart that way.

Is it true that Hilton...

Liked: The hotel is fantastic but the staff we encountered that night ruined the hotel's core value.Hilton's core values are:Hospitality: Hilton is passionate about providing exceptional experiences for guests.Integrity: Hilton does the right thing all the time.Leadership: Hilton is a leader in its industry and community.Teamwork: Hilton is a team player in everything it does.Ownership: Hilton owns its actions and decisions.Now: Hilton operates with a sense of urgency and discipline. Disliked: The hotel itself was aesthetically pleasing, but the customer service was not good. The person we tried to check in with was rude and unwelcoming. He insisted that Hilton Hotel does not accept third-party reservations, even though I booked through Priceline and paid $198.61. He demanded that I pay $253.40, citing hotel policy. I explained that I had already paid through Priceline with my platinum ranking and discount, but he claimed that Priceline had not paid the hotel yet. He refused to check us in unless we paid the amount he requested for just one night. Despite driving 4-5 hours to Springdale, he showed no empathy. After the conference we came for was over, we had no choice but to find another place to stay as our reservation was not honored. When I called Priceline for help, I was told that only a manager could cancel the reservation. The front desk staff threatened to charge me as a "no-show" if I didn't check in, which was incredibly frustrating. I want to bring attention to the poor treatment we received at the Hilton Hotel in Springdale. They need to treat their customers with respect and value their patrons. I hope no other family has to experience what we went through on 09/28/2023 at around 8 pm. We had to drive back home for 4-5 hours without getting any sleep.
