Ideally located for station and town. Staff friendly; clean, comfy room. Excellent soundproofing.

Liked: Clean, comfortable, friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast, close to city attractions. Perfect.
Disliked: 1 lift out of action, so other lift busy, but I suspect this was temporary only and we were happy to use the stairs instead.

Liked: I have stayed at the Hampton by Hilton in Scotland so thought I would try it while staying in York. The hotel is great with everything you need including a great breakfast and fitness room. The location is great being close to York station and easy to access the city walls and other attractions within the city. The room was comfortable with plenty of space and a great bed.

Liked: quiet room, big bed, easy location, suitable early Saturday breakfast (even for someone who needed to be in an appointment by 8:30, there was time to have breakfast)
Disliked: those pillows.... so uncomfortable! Still trying to figure out how stone-hard pillows turn into mush after a few minutes of resting your head on them.
