Brilliant breakfast, great staff but...

Liked: The breakfast made the stay much better. The food and service of the breakfast was 1st class. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank goodness for the breakfast as it was the best part.
Disliked: The room, though big needs and redecoration. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable, There was a noise at night that sounded like pipes that kept me awake so slept really badly. The shower was awful. Either it needs changing or cleaning. Hard to get a substantial amount of water out together. It was very cold the 1st night and could not get Wi-Fi but the second night was better.

Great breakfast, same about the...

Liked: The breakfast was fantastic! 10/10 with everything we asked for. Both the team member that looked after us and the quality was just brilliant. Probably the saving grace for our stay. Also the free parking is a big plus too.
Disliked: The room decoration is set in the late 70's/80's and a mixed bag. The showers don't work properly. On the 1st night no Wi-Fi. The pillows were soft and flat. The sleep was awful as there was a noise that sounded like pipes banging so we were awoken twice in the night. Luckily we only had 2 nights stay. The outside looks great but the inside is poor.

Fair Price, food good, bathroom...

Liked: Breakfast and food was good, sound proofing in room was not very good. Room generally clean but bathroom requires some maintenance - Fan did not work, toilet would only partly flush though lots of hot water.
Disliked: Bathroom requires maintenance, extractor fan not working, toilet didnt flush properly.

Very comfortable and convenient.

Liked: Dinner on Thursday was superb especially with the little extras. We have stayed on many occasions and always been satisfied. Heating was excellent and especially appreciated in the bathroom.
Disliked: Not a complaint but the floorboards were creaky both in our room and the room above.

Passable

Liked: The floorboards didn't creak too much. The room was clean and the heating worked.
Disliked: The room was on the road side of the building and even later in the evening rather busy. Wifi was not up to usable level. Mobile data reception at the hotel is not great either so there was real opportunity to do some work in the room. The shower head didn't stay in place so you had to hold it to get some water on your body instead of the walls. All in all it felt like the hotel can do with some investment.

Liked: Staff were excellent, food in the restaurant was really good, breakfast was also really good. Food was good value. Heating was fine, shower good but bathroom and room dated.
Disliked: Room was very dated, could have been cleaned better and more carefully. Top floor room was affected by noise of main water pipes. But I did see only one room out of possibly 24 available.
