Cozy, well appointed rooms. Thoughtful...

Liked: The room was big and the bed was super comfortable. I felt so cozy being able to make a fire every night and the lighting was amazing. Overall i loved my stay and would definitely come back.

I would recommend staying here...

Liked: The breakfast was amazing. A nice variety of fresh and homemade food.
Disliked: There was a dog barking every night at 1am that woke us up. That is not the property's fault, but did effect the way we slept.

An exceptional stay with TAOS-appropriate...

Liked: Hacienda del Sol is a gem within a very special part of New Mexico. Our stay turned out to be part of the TAOS experience. The coded entry allowed for independence and quick access to our room. Breakfast in Mabel's Lounge was exceptional, with both local and traditional continental breakfast options, calming music for a peaceful ambiance and excellent coffee and freshly squeezed juice.
Disliked: Jacuzzi was available for sign up, but complicated due to the cold weather we were having as it is quite a ways away from the rooms and requires uncovering and recovering the hot tub. It's not that it bothered us, it just meant we didn't use it although we had been expecting to. Hanging out in the extremely comfortable rooms with coffee and tea and a mini fridge available was a more desirable option after dinner and drinks in town.

Exceptional

Great stay and ambiance in...

Liked: This is a special location and you really breathe in the history of the place! The breakfast served is spot-on and I really loved the local delicacies and the freshness of the products. Big pro for this location!
Disliked: The location isn't very child friendly as some of the rooms cannot be darkened and there are no baby cribs and child or high chairs. Secondly, the location is not very close to the village centre (walking distance).

Passable

Liked: Nice bed and good breakfast. Nice staff.
Disliked: There was no trash can in the room. There was no coffee cups in the room, but there was a coffee maker. The wall heater worked on the floor but cover was broken off and a serious fire hazard if any blankets fell on it. Parking was very difficult in a truck. Overpriced. This is a 1-2 star hotel at best.

What are they hiding?

Liked: Looked nice from the outside.
Disliked: The staff was unfriendly and cold. A truly bizarre experience. I arrived at 3pm, which is checkin time, but did not yet have a reservation. The front door was locked and had a keypad. There was as a sign at the door stating that you MUST book online, and then you would receive a code for the door. I went ahead and booked, received the code via email, opened the door, and to my surprise there was a concierge there just on the other side of the door that could have opened it and let me in at any time!
