Liked: We had a lovely meal at old nells. Service was very quick. Good quality food and good portions. Staff we're very friendly
Disliked: Rooms need modernising. Bed was very wide and pretty comfortable. We had a jacuzzi bath but the water was not hot enough.

Lovely stay, bar one member...

Liked: This is my 3rd stay here. It's amazing everytime. Absolutely love the little quirky village feeling and beautiful surroundings. It's so nice to have a relaxing stroll along the canal. The food is lovely and it's all round great value for money.
Disliked: Just one member of staff unfortunately ruined our experience. A young girl, Little Miss Impatient!On the Saturday night we had just ordered food and sat at a table tucked away in a corner at old nells tavern. Most of the tables around were empty. Then this staff member came over rushing us because she wanted our table, the food hadn't even arrived and there was no reserved sign when we sat down. We just thought this was a bit rude as it made us feel awkward and in the wrong. Then in the morning at breakfast, she made a comment about our friends not having a menu (in a certain tone, as if it was our fault) but she had taken the menus away herself!! Then, when I paid for breakfast, I paid the amount she asked for, then nipped to the toilet. Whilst I was in the toilet my husband could hear her slagging me off to another staff member because I hadn't paid for my cappuchino. She also came over demanding payment to my husband who said I'd only be a minute. Obviously I instantly paid the £3.something, feeling like I I'd robbed the safe or somet because she was snotty with me. Then she stated it was her fault for not adding it to the bill!!!! No apology for her rudeness though.I will come again as the place itself is fab, I just think that little miss snotty pants would maybe be better cleaning the toilets in future.

Liked: We liked the location .The food in Owd Nells was good and value for money.
Disliked: In the rooms all the lights switched on and off together.You couldn't have one bedside light on without all the other lights.The bathroom was poorly lit with the light on.There were no drawers to place your things in.Had to leave things in my case.There was a wardrobe to hang clothes ,so that's fine.Gift shop wasn't open Sat or Sunday which we were disappointed in.They looked to have some lovely things but can't sell anything if they are closed?
